Emily said, “Well, let them come.”

“They don’t know you had a child out of wedlock, and they’re about to show up. Can we just say that yo
u and Dr. Martin are a family when we introduce you?” Gina asked anxiously.
Emily’s face changed, “Why would we say that?”
Gina said bluntly, “What will they think if they find out you had a child out of wedlock?”
Emily looked cold, “So that’s what you’re worried about. No problem, I’ll just
take Kya and leave now, and I won’t show up in front of them in the future!”
“Emily!” Elliott stopped her, “Don’t be rash. Mom is only saying this for my sake, don’t be mad at her.”
Emily replied calmly, “I’m not mad, I just don’t want to cause you trouble!”
Gina knew she had spoken too harshly, and choked up, “Emily, understand your mother, your brother’s
wedding was delayed because of my illness, I’m afraid of any more problems!”
“So I’ll take Kya and leave now, out of sight, out of mind!”
Just then, Elliott’s phone rang, he checked it and said hurriedly, “They’re here, where are you planning
to go?”
Gina held Emily’s hand tightly, “I’m begging you, no matter what your relationship is with Dr. Martin, I
won’t interfere. Can you just play along today?”
Elliott also said, “Emily, please help us out!”
Emily felt trapped again, like when she dealt with the
Crystal issue. If she didn’t accept the Frey family’s money, she would be seen as
the black sheep of the Sullivan family.
Why can’t she ever escape this fate?
