Chater 1099

Chapter 1099

Estelle shook her head, “Nah, go on.”

Marina took another big gulp of her drink, “Back then, I loved him so much, it was like I lost my mind,

totally drowned in my feelings for him.

“A year into our relationship, he bumped into his first love from college. She was gentle, caring, knew

how to play the damsel in distress, totally different from me who was always trying to adapt to him.

“Her light bulb was out in the middle of the night and he rushed over to fix it; she was sick in the middle

of the night, called him and he braved the heavy rain to bring her medicine; she said she made soup for

him, and he excitedly went over to her place, completely forgot about our date.”

“I noticed he was getting more and more dismissive of me, losing patience, but I still didn’t want to give

up, gave him

chances after chances, listened to his explanations, until they lost control and I caught them in the act,

that was the end of

1.

“He cheated on me, but he blamed me, said I had no taste, not attractive, too boring and conservative.

“I was shocked, I wasn’t fond of wearing those ladylike sets and high heels, I wore them because he

liked them. I didn’t want to live together before marriage, so he used to praise me for being self-

respecting, but now he said I was boring and

conservative.

“I couldn’t accept how he treated me, and after we broke up, I couldn’t sleep every night. But within a

few days, he was with

his first love!”

Marina took a deep breath, and another sip of her drink, “I was the biggest fool in the world!”

Estelle frowned, “What about you and Mr. Foster?”

“It was arranged by my mom. She saw how miserable I was and took the initiative to arrange the

engagement with the Foster family, just as Carson was also being forced to get engaged because of

Cicely, so we ended up together.”

“And now?” Under the firelight, Estelle’s eyes were clear, asking curiously.

“It’s like waking up from a nightmare. Looking back at my past, I want to slap my old self” Marina saidnovelbin

indignantly.

“Well, at least you’re awake now!” Estelle said earnestly.

“True, but I feel like I’ve fallen into another trouble.” Marina frowned. After what happened with Cicely,

she felt she should break up with Carson sooner rather than later.

She looked up, saw a couple of girls surrounding Carson. He was handsome, elegant, and polite,

easily attracting girls’ attention. She should leave this womanizer before she fell in love with him, to

avoid getting hurt again.

The bonfire party had started. Jonathan came to get Estelle. Estelle and Marina got up and walked

towards the bonfire. Everyone sat around the bonfire, some played the guitar, some sang. The

atmosphere was lively and heated.

Sitting to the left of Estelle was Jonathan, and to her right was Marina, and next to Marina was Carson.

Jonathan handed Estelle a glass of fruit wine, whispering in her ear, “Drink slowly, don’t get drunk. We’ll

go to the rooftop to watch the stars tonight.”

Estelle’s pretty cheeks turned slightly red, she glanced at Jonathan, the flickering firelight reflected in

her eyes. Jonathan felt his heart racing, he involuntarily grasped her wrist tightly, not giving her any

chance to break free. Estelle turned to look at Jonathan, but saw Waters sitting next to Charlie, handing

him a glass of wine.

Waters was wearing a red dress, looking elegant. Paired with her seductive eyes, even women would

blush looking at her. Charlie took the wine, took a sip, and had a pleasant chat with Waters.
