Chapter 1077

Chapter 1077

Bennett said with a sigh, “I saw you getting bashed online a few days ago, your mom and I were all

worried sick. You’re okay, right?”

Estelle snorted coldly. When she was under attack online, none of the Macclain family cared about her,

except for Sallie and her brother. They only called to check on her after everything had calmed down.

What was the point of pretending to care?

“Is there something you want?” Estelle’s tone became more and more indifferent.

Bennett could sense the distance between Estelle and him. He sighed, “It’s good to know you’re okay.

Your grandparents are also worried about you. They hope you can come home when you have time.

Everyone misses you!”

“I got it.” Estelle replied.

“Take care of yourself out there!”

“Mm.”

Estelle hung up the phone directly and put it aside with a normal expression. She wouldn’t be moved

by anything the Macclain family did.

On the other end, Bennett looked at his phone and sighed again.

“What’s wrong?” Simone asked while bringing over a plate of fruit salad.

Bennett said, “Dad called me today, asking about Estelle and Mr. Lamont’s relationship, and hoping

she could come home. I just called her, but she wasn’t very friendly.”

Simone raised an eyebrow, snorting, “Your parents really know how to seize opportunities. As soon as

they saw the photos of Estelle and Jonathan circulating online, they immediately wanted to leverage

the power of the Lamonts.”

Bennett said, “The stuff online really did wrong Estelle. It was all Gwen’s doing.

Simone, while feeding Carmella’s cat some cantaloupe, scoffed, “Those minor celebrities are no good,

yet Estelle insisted on hanging out with them and brought trouble upon herself. Isn’t this what she

asked for?”

Bennett sighed, “I hope Estelle can pull herself together, stop making mom and dad angry, so we can

hold our heads high at home.”

Simone said, “She hasn’t considered me her mother for a long time. Whether she’s good or bad has

nothing to do with me. I’m just counting on Carmella to make something of herself.”

Speaking of Carmella, Bennett quickly asked, “How’s it going with Carmella participating in that fashion

show?”

“She said she’s taken care of it, there shouldn’t be any problems

“That’s good!” Bennett finally breathed a sigh of relief, “I hope Carmella can hit it big this time, make

her studio bigger, and bring our family back to the limelight!”

Simone laughed, “Carmella won’t let us down!”

However, two days later, Carmella’s team received a message from the show organizers saying their

designs were outdated and had been eliminated. Upon hearing this, Carmella didn’t dare tell Simone

and Bennett.

But Simone had been keeping a close eye on the fashion show and related magazines. When she

didn’t see Carmella’s team’s name during the live broadcast, she hurriedly asked Carmella.

Realizing she couldn’t hide it anymore, Carmella told Simone that her designs, had been eliminated

before they had a chance to be showcased.

Simone was very disappointed and urgently asked, “What about the money we invested?”

Carmella looked extremely embarrassed and didn’t say a word. Obviously, that money was gone for

Simone, disappointed and angry, blurted out, “Carmella, do you know how much your dad and I

invested in your studio? You said we’d see a return within a year, but it’s been three years and we’re

still pouring money in. Do you even have what it takes?”

Carmella’s face turned red, then pale. She explained, “It’s not that our designs aren’t good, it’s that we

didn’t give the judges enough money. I know a design team that spent tens of millions and then got the

chance to be on the runway.”

Simone was surprised, “What do you mean? Instead of admitting your lack of ability, you blame us for

not giving enough bribes?”

Carmella’s face became even more embarrassed. Her downturned eyes flashed with resentment as

she bit her lip and said nothing.
