Chapter 1071

Chapter 1071

Jonathan was driving and said in a low voice, “Mr. Tucker wanted you to play the lead role in his movie,

but I turned him down for you.”

Estelle was taken aback, and instinctively asked, “How did you know?”

Jonathan chuckled, “I’m the biggest investor for this movie now, so of course I know everything.”

“I know you don’t like being in the spotlight, so I didn’t ask for your opinion. You’re not mad at me,

right?” Jonathan asked.

“No.” Estelle replied, looking down. Actually she had already turned down Mr. Tucker multiple times.novelbin

With the investor stepping in this time, Mr. Tucker should finally stop pestering her.

“How are you going to thank me?” the man asked.

Estelle turned her head in surprise and saw the man’s profile illuminated by the evening glow. His

features were distinct, his expression serious. She couldn’t believe that he was actually expecting her

to thank him.

Estelle chuckled, “And how would you like me to thank you?”!!

“How about you treat me to dinner tonight!”

Estelle didn’t expect such a simple request, and quickly agreed, “Sure!”

“If only you could agree to all my requests so readily!” The man smiled at her, his tone carrying a subtle

hint of barely noticeable complaint.

Estelle looked away and didn’t respond.

Jonathan took her to the Yum Yum Bakery. He walked in front, and she followed behind.

As they crossed the road, Jonathan suddenly turned back and chuckled, “Hurry up, are you still

counting the steps? Haven’t you figured out how many there are yet?” Estelle looked up at him. The

sky was darkening, the dim light filtered through the leaves. The man’s gaze was profound, his lips

curved with a hint of a smile, tinged with tenderness that made her heart race.

This scene was too familiar, so familiar that even the shadows of the branches were deeply etched in

her memory.

Every time they came here in the past, she would walk these stone steps step by step. Jonathan’s

pace was always quick, and he would occasionally stop and wait for her, teasingly asking if she was

counting the steps, which was why she was walking so slowly

In the end, he would always take her hand and get her to keep up with his pace.

His gaze was sharp and focused, as if he could see right through her. But Estelle calmed herself down

and said, “I’m not counting them anymore.”

Jonathan looked at her for a while before turning around and continuing to walk. Estelle quickly caught

up with him.

They sat in their usual spot. When Courtney came to take their order and saw Estelle, she was thrilled,

“Long time no see!”

Estelle gave her a gentle smile, “I haven’t been in J City for the past couple of years.”

“That explains why Jonathan always comes alone.” Courtney looked fondly at her, then at Jonathan

and said, “But he always orders your favorite dishes. He must have missed you a lot. It’s great that

you’re back.”

Feeling a little awakward, Estelle didn’t know how to respond.

Jonathan smoothly took over the conversation, “She insisted on coming here as soon as she got back.

She especially wanted your milk tea, so add more sugar for her to quench her thirst.”

Estelle was even more embarrassed and couldn’t refute.

“No problem, I will personally make it.” Courtney was even happier, “Today’s meal is on the house,

order whatever you like.”

“No need!” Estelle immediately refused.

“Don’t be shy, I’m really happy today. You won’t have the chance in the future!” Courtney said half-

jokingly, but her tone was sincere. She didn’t give Estelle a chance to argue and started taking orders

for them.
