Chapter 71

Chapter 71novelbin

The next morning, at the Wolfendens… “It seems like yesterday was another peaceful night. I wonder ifthe Primrose Deck was as peaceful.” Hugh started with the topic of yesterday’s incident. Sadie wasfeeling slightly frustrated and grumbled, “It was indeed slightly weird at Primrose Deck. It happens everyonce in a while and without notice.” “You better not run your mouth off like that. The VIPs at PrimroseDeck are people who we cannot afford to offend,” Hugh warned Sadie.

“Yes, Grandpa. This is like the ninth time you have reminded me!” replied Sadie. Meanwhile, Kayson wastotally calm. As usual, he was quiet. Beatrice took an omelet, put it on his plate, and gently said,“Kayson, do eat more. It’s good for you.”

“Thanks, Mrs. Wolfenden,” said Kayson.

Beatrice smiled at him. There was just a glint in her eyes that hinted that she was thinking more than shewas letting out.

For the first time, Sadie proactively called out to Kayson after breakfast. “Kayson, can you please hurryup? I have never seen a man as slow as you!” “I’m coming.” Kayson rushed out of the door while puttingon his shoes. Hugh observed the scene and smiled at Beatrice. “Have you noticed that Sadie andKayson are getting along much better recently?” “Relationships are solidified through mutualexperiences. It’s not surprising that their relationship is improving over time,” replied Beatrice. Hughlaughed heartily. “True. Who knows? It may not be too long before I can have great grandchildren!”

Meanwhile, Kayson and Sadie had just reached the office.

Upon reaching the office, Kayson started running through project-related issues.

At around 10:00 a.m., Easton came rushing back. “Kayson, we have hit some problems!” Kayson took abreak from the documents and looked at Easton. “What happened?” Easton approached Kayson and

whispered. “About five to six bank presidents just came to our office.”

Kayson looked at Easton quizzingly. “Okay. So, there are people who have come. What’s so problematicabout that?”

Easton pulled up a chair and sat right beside Kayson. “I heard that they have come to follow up with ourdebt. Mr. Kace, you might not know it, but it is common for a company in this industry to work up a hugedebt! “For instance, the tendering for a plot of land requires a few million, and if it is located at a

prime location, that number can easily multiply. The cost can balloon easily if we include the materials, labor, and safety provisions! This kind of funding comes from borrowing money for the purpose of havinga cash flow.” Kayson frowned. “What you’re trying to tell me is that the bank presidents coming to get usto repay back the loan could greatly affect the operation of our company?” “Of course! Suppose thecompany doesn’t have sufficient cash flow. In that case, we will not be able to pay employees theirsalaries and pay our suppliers and partners for the materials and services rendered,” replied Easton.

Kayson had already got a gist of the situation through the conversation. He smiled and patted Easton onhis back. “Don’t worry about it. This is not something for The Tetrad to worry about. Ms. Wolfenden willbe able to solve this issue.” Easton looked stunned before he scratched his head and came to arealization. “Oh yeah. After all, there is nothing much The Tetrad can do to help.” Meanwhile, in Sadie’soffice… Chelsea could be heard calling out in a panicky tone. “Mr. Lawson! Please give me a moment toat least inform Ms. Wolfenden of your arrival. Mr. Lawson! You cannot just go in without permission”

The door reverberated due to Miles’s force when opening the office door. He rushed in with anaggressive stance. Chelsea felt embarrassed at failing to stop him. “Ms. Wolfenden, I’m so sorry, I…”
