Chapter 197: Wasn’t He Worried about Her?

The man didn't say anything, but calmly sent her out.

In the past, she wasn't surprised at all. As long as she was not in trouble, he would not ask where she went. But now, as long as he did not speak she would feel anxious. Wasn't he afraid that James would do something to her?

The cars were driving out a long way. The woman's eyes were still looking outside the window. Nick looked at her strangely and asked, "Sister Cathy, what's wrong?" Cathy took back her sight and shook her head. "Nothing."

Then she said, "Remember what I told you before?"

Nick nodded. "Well, I can remember."

Cathy stopped talking.

It was dark when the car arrived.

Cathy got out of the car then looked over, and put her eyes in the dining room in front of her.

Two Japanese-style red lanterns in the doorway gave a quiet feeling in the neon lights.

Without hesitation, she pushed the door up and went in.

It's a Japanese cuisine, the environment was very elegant and quiet. The light was warm, even the music was full of strong Japanese style.

When the waitress in kimono saw them, she stepped forward quickly and said in less fluent Chinese, "Hello, how many are you?"

Cathy opened her cell phone and handed it to her by text message. "There's an appointment."novelbin

"Oh, please follow me."

They followed the waiter through the low and quiet corridors and finally arrived at a spacious room. Except for the basic frame, they were all covered by bamboo curtains, such as exclusive for VIP guests, and no one else was seen.

"Manager Lawson." The bamboo curtain in the opposite room was lifted, and the secretary came out and smiled at her.

Cathy nodded politely to her. "Is Mr Franklin there?"

"No, he is in this place." She went over and lifted the bamboo curtain in the opposite room. "Manager Lawson, please."

Cathy looked down and saw the young man kneeling at the table. He probably heard the movement, turned his head and gave her a gentle smile. "Welcome."

Cathy pulled her lip, nodded to him. She changed her shoes and went in.

Nick raised his pace to keep up with her. The Secretary gently reached out and stopped him. She pointed to the room opposite and said with a smile, "Assistant Nick, this way, please."

Cathy looked at Nick in dismay and walked back, deliberately joking: "Give me the laptop, you go over. It is rare to have such a beautiful lady to accompany, you have to seize the opportunity." Nick was blushed and handed over his laptop.

Put down the curtain, Cathy went to the man opposite, and slowly knelt down and sat down with a faint smile. "Mr Franklin, you must spend a lot money on these. Next time you go to Chicago, I can't afford the same."

The man was immediately amused by her. His elegant face became more charming, "Inviting friends to dinner, of course, I will do my best. As I invite you to be here of course I will give you the best." "Thank you, Mr Franklin. Next time you go to Chicago, I will invite you directly to the restaurant." Cathy glanced at the rich and exquisite dishes in front of her and joked.

"Anything is okay. It's up to you."

The man raise his lips, dark blue shirt and tie neatly, showing gentlemanly demeanour. Suddenly, his eyes swept over her beige sleeveless coat and he laughed, "Here's the heat. You can take off your coat or you will sweat in a short time."

Cathy was shocked and looked down at her clothes.

The sleeveless jacket, which was very broad and trendy. It had a slightly formal style. It just added some elegance to her. It's not rude, but took it off?

That's impossible, otherwise her big stomach would expose.

She looked up and smiled and shook her head. "No, I don't feel hot. I've had a cold recently and sweating is just right for me."

"Take more rest when you are ill." The man's smile faded, and his deep eyes swept silently across her abdomen.

He picked up the beautiful little wine pot next to him and raised his eyebrows. "Can you drink?"

Cathy's eyebrows twitched.

He was so polite. Could she say no?

"I can drink a little." She took the glass in front of her.

The man filled up for her. He glanced at her hand, and said with concern, "What about your hurt in the morning? Did you see a doctor?"

"I had some medicine. It's all right."

The man nodded and said, "Please start and have a taste.

"Thanks." Cathy picked up her chopsticks and glanced at them without looking at them clearly. She grabbed a piece of meat and dipped it in some sauce. She put it in her mouth and chewed it slowly. Suddenly, her face changed and her lips tightened.

The man was keenly aware, frowning, "What's wrong? Don't you like it?"

"Uh-huh..." Cathy shook her head suddenly, and pulled her lips then squeezed out a smile. She quickly chewed and swallowed.

It's raw.

Although she knew that Japanese cuisine was mostly raw meat, she hardly ate it. She didn't like the taste. At that time she was pregnant, and her stomach was more sensitive.

"How does it taste?" The man asked her with a light smile.

Cathy swallowed her saliva and reluctantly laughed, "Very good..."

The man's expression was still gentle, but the tone was a little more serious, "In front of me do not have to reluctantly. Don't you like eating raw meat?"

Cathy smiled stiff and her face changed slightly. "Mr Franklin, I... I don't like raw food."

It's better to tell the truth than to pretend as he had told out. Anyway, today was not important. Why did she care so much?

"Why don't you tell me earlier? It's my responsibility if you get ill." The man frowned and spoke in a helpless voice. He turned his hand and rang the bell. Soon a waiter came in. "Please, sir."

"Take them all away and replace them with ripe food."

Hearing the withdrawal, Cathy suddenly opened her eyes and raised her hand to stop him, "No! We don't need to withdraw! I'll just eat some ripe food. Don't spend more money, or I'll really be sorry." "Don't say that." The man laughed. "None of these had been eaten. They take them down and send them to other guests. They won't cost more."

Cathy's eyebrows were still twisting, and wanted to say something but she saw the man waving, "Take them away."

Two men came up and took away the long table.

Although Cathy knew what he was thinking, she still felt a little embarrassed. Her eyes flashed then picked up the documents prepared in the computer bag next to her and opened her mouth. "Mr Franklin, you told me that you wanted to talk about cooperation before. I brought the project plan for you. Or would you like to have a look at it?"

The man looked at her without any change on his face. He took it over and shook his head and laughed. "You are really desperate for your work. I think it's a waste of your talent to work in Mr.Brown's company."
