“It’s so beautiful,” Tila smiled at me, locking her arms over my neck before leaning in and pecking mylips with a short kiss, making me want more.
“I’m glad you liked it,” I said, cupping her cheeks.
I bought this penthouse in the human town recently for us as the workload of the pack wasoverwhelming sometimes and we didn’t have any break for the past year so I had planned to visit thispenthouse quarterly.
I wanted some family and alone time with my mate. Since I had expanded my business in the town, Ihad to visit it frequently so we needed a place to stay while we were in the town. Although the hotelswere pretty comfortable and resourceful, I didn’t like to stay in a place I couldn’t call mine, so I wantedto buy something that
would be ours and no one else knew about it.
“But what will we do here?” She sought, her big lilac eyes watching me with curiosity.
“We will take rest and…” I smirked, staring at her red lips. She looked stunningly hot in that little blackdress.
“No, no, no,” Tila took a few steps backward, giggling and waving me off. “You can’t be serious. Don’ttell me that you forgot about Serena’s test results arriving today.”
“Fuck,” I cursed under my breath, raking a hand over my hair. How could I forget something thatimportant? “Can’t it wait till tomorrow morning?” I sheepishly asked, wanting to spend some time alonewith her.
“No,” she sternly denied, shaking her head. “Everything else can wait but not her reports.”
I sighed helplessly, knowing my stubborn mate wouldn’t relent easily. “I can arrange a web meetingwith Lila. I’m sure that she won’t mind and it’s just one night, baby. Please, say yes,” I pleaded, makingan innocent face to persuade her.
“No, Prescott. You know how important it is for us and I want the procedure to begin right away if thereports are good,” Tila crossed her arms across her chest.
Serena had volunteered to become the surrogate for us and Tila had agreed with the idea of having ourbaby through surrogacy. Serena hadn’t accepted Caleb as her mate yet but she hadn’t rejected himeither. He was still

courting her so I had taken his permission because Serena was his mate and I didn’t want him to feelthat I was
misusing my Alpha title and powers. I wanted both of their agreements to let it happen.
Lila had to run several tests and check if she was the right candidate to become our surrogate. Someof those tests took longer to show the proper result. The results were good so far so we had a hopethat Serena would carry our baby in her womb but the final results were going to be out tonight.
Tila wanted to have a baby as soon as possible. After several she-wolves from our pack signed up tobecome surrogate for us, we ran the tests on them and all of them had negative results. Surprisingly,none of them could carry our baby as their bodies were unable to handle our strong genes.
I had already asked Alpha Sheldon to hold a general meeting in the Blood Moon pack, seeking a willingshe-wolf who wanted to become a surrogate for us but Serena showed an interest and we decided togive it a last shot in
our pack.
“Okay, fine,” I raised my hands in surrender and bowed to her. “As per my Queen demands.”
“You didn’t tell me how was your meeting with the new head of the marketing team?” She asked with acurious glance, heading out of the penthouse.
“It was good. She seems to be an expert in her field. Her new strategy will double our sales as she isplanning to run ads on social media to advertise our products and services. It will bring a lot of funds ifeverything goes as
we have planned,” I explained everything to her.
She had her brows furrowed as she tried to understand what I had said. “A female head of themarketing team?”
Her tone was cold and the way her eyes scrutinized me, I knew that I was in trouble.
“I smell jealousy here,” I smirked, leading her to the passenger seat of my car and she jumped inside,rolling her eyes as I held the door for her.
“Well, I’m not the HR of the company. I didn’t hire her,” I shrugged. “Besides that, she is good at her joband I’m not even going to be here at the company all the time so you don’t need to be worried aboutanything, love.”
“You could simply say that if you want, we can fire her, babe,” she frowned, starting the music in my carbefore I could respond to her bitter remark.
I let out an exasperated sigh. “You out of all people shouldn’t be insecure or jealous. I have eyes onlyfor you, my love.” I kissed her hand and held it in my hand, locking our fingers together.

After driving for a while, Tila fell asleep in the passenger seat and I drove in silence. Caleb greeted meas soon as i parked my car and he saw me getting out of it with Tila in my arms.
Concern was evident on everyone’s faces, I simply examined their expressions as I made my wayinside Lila’s cabin. Serena and Caleb were standing while two empty chairs next to Lila were vacant forus so I placed my mate on the chair and she yawned, rubbing her eyes to wake up.
“Why didn’t you wake me up?” Tila asked, feeling embarrassed as everyone was looking at her. “Howare the reports?”
“They aren’t as good as I had expected,” Lila pursed her lips in guilt.
“She doesn’t need it. Maybe there is something wrong that I can fix,” Owen smiled, standing in thedoorway. He stood there with a smile on his face, his physique was pretty improved and he lookedhealthier and stronger
than before.
We didn’t know why he was here. After Avery’s eighteenth birthday, she was going to take over Owen’srole and responsibility. There had been no improvements in his condition so we had left the hope ofseeing him fit and fine all over again.
“Are you surprised to see me still alive?” Owen wiggled his brows, letting out a low chuckle.
“Well, yes,” I shrugged, shaking my head in disbelief.
“I will leave this world once Avery takes over and she is accepted by the Moon Goddess as theChaplain,” henovelbin
clarified. “Don’t worry. The full moon night is just a week away. That’s my last day on this earth butbefore going, I want to make sure that the Alpha King and Queen are expecting a baby.”
“Can you heal me?” Tila quickly questioned, “Will I be able to get pregnant again and give birth to mychildren?”
Owen nodded his head in approval. “I have come here only to help you out with your pregnancy.”
“It’s risky, Owen. If she would get pregnant, it would be harmful for her. It will be dangerous for her andI don’t want to risk her life at any cost,” I told him firmly, holding Tila’s hands in mine as she looked atme, perplexed.
I was determined that she wouldn’t get pregnant no matter how badly we wanted it, we would have tobe extra careful. For the past two months, I had been using protection whenever we mated whichreminded me of my
mate who was sitting next to me.
