Mrs. York was irked. Did Mrs. Harrington suppose she could not understand the nuances of the conversation? It sounded as though Quinn had many skeletons in her closet. Unbeknownst to Mrs. York, Quintessa did have a few skeletons in her closet, things like murder and arson.

Quintessa, once again named for reasons unknown, looked amusedly at Mrs. Harrington. This lady was really good at making veiled insults; but unfortunately for her, Mrs. York just didn't fall for her tactics.

At that moment, however, Quintessa felt that Mrs. Harrington's opinion was the least of her concerns. Her attention was solely on Mrs. York.

Feeling protected in this way was new and slightly uncomfortable for Quintessa. She was used to attacking but not yet accustomed to being protected.

It puzzled Quintessa why Mrs. York was so fiercely protective of her after just one instance of help. She felt herself unworthy compared to Mrs. York's kindness and generosity.

She started to worry. What would happen if Mrs. York ever discovered the truth about her past? Would she regret being so kind to her?

Mrs. Harrington hadn't expected Mrs. York to confront her so directly, her smile becoming a bit strained. "You've misunderstood, that's not what I meant."

Mrs. York stopped Quintessa from speaking and said, "If that's not what you meant, then explain it to me. I'm not like you. If you beat around the bush and don't speak plainly, I won't get it. I guess I'm just foolish."

Mrs. Harrington tried to clarify, "What I mean is, just like how celebrities can hardly keep their private lives private, everything gets blown out of proportion, including romantic relationships. Serena isn't suited fo work that requires confidentiality."

Mrs. York internally scoffed. What an unnecessary drama! She had already predicted this dinner wouldn't be pleasant beforehand.

Mrs. York nodded and then turned to Quintessa with a full smile, caressing her face, "Exactly? Being a celebrity, indeed, a lot has to remain unknown to the public, especially for Quinn who's just debuted. Romantic relationships have to be kept under wraps. Just the two of them, I worry day and night about them being caught by the paparazzi. Paparazzi these days are quite ruthless, aren't they, Quintessa?"

Sometimes Mrs. York was especially perceptive. With that statement, she not only silenced Mrs. Harrington but also subtly let everyone know that Quintessa and Tyrone were dating, squashing any ulterior motives!

Quintessa was taken aback. Mrs. York actually stated she and Tyrone were dating. She didn't she always call her a vixen? Could it be that she didn't mind anymore?

Feeling grateful, Quintessa quickly returned a sweet smile, "Indeed, they're like detectives."

Mrs. York turned to Mrs. Harrington,

"This girl's been busy filming, barely gets a break. She looks even thinner than the last time I saw her. It's heart- wrenching. You should come over sometime; I'll cook you @ hearty meal."

Quintessa affectionately linked her arm with Mrs. York's, "I've been m craving your barbecue ribs."

With Mrs. York protecting her in such a manner, Quintessa knew she had to cooperate properly, even if

Mrs. York was just speaking casually.

Just for this unreasoned defensen alone, quintessa truly owed her a heartfelt thanks.

Over the years, apart from them, who else had provided her such support?

Tyrone didn't speak. He tilted his head to look at Mrs. York and m Quintessa Tsk, they appeared truly affectionate!
