Chapter 981

Judith, propping her chin on her hand, continued to browse the latest news online with a keen interest,

a smile playing on her lips.

"By the way, I've decided to take dinner to Ian. I heard he's still at work. Poor guy."

At her words, Wind's eyes drooped with disappointment.

Picking up a takeaway box, Judith cheerfully left the house.

Watching her retreating figure, Wind's gaze was filled with longing.

The Sanders family had entrusted him with the safety of their princess, a testament to their trust in him.

As the head of security for the Sanders family, he was the most skilled of all.

But he had crossed a line. He had fallen for her.

Despite her ruthless treatment of enemies, she always expressed herself with an innocent air.

Her contradictory nature was utterly captivating.

But he was well aware that Judith didn't reciprocate his feelings. To her, he was merely a weapon in her

arsenal.

Even so, his heart swelled with joy.

When Judith arrived at Raymond Corporation, it was already 7 p.m.novelbin

Ian had already descended to the underground parking lot in the elevator. Having just concluded a

meeting, he impatiently loosened his tie.

"Any progress on the investigation from Grandpa's side?"

"Sir, the special team has joined the investigation, but despite their efforts, they haven't found any

leads."

Ian fell silent, which was expected.

No one knew the situation at his grandfather's end. If something were to happen.

His lips tightened, and in his frustration, he was about to light a cigarette when he heard Jeff say, "Miss

Penny made several headlines today."

As he spoke, Jeff glanced into the rearview mirror.

Ian lit a cigarette, and his thoughts remained concealed as the smoke curled around him.

Jeff drove out of the underground garage. As they passed the company building, he noticed a luxury

car parked some distance away.

Judith was stepping out of the car, a takeaway box in her hand. She was probably here to bring dinner

to Ian.

But without Ian's permission, she couldn't access the top floor.

Jeff was about to accelerate when he heard Ian's voice behind him.

"Tell the reception desk to let her up. No need for appointments."

Jeff was stunned. If Judith made a spectacle of her visits to the Raymond Corporation, the entire circle

would know about their relationship within a day.

Ian sat quietly, playing with his lighter.

The flame danced in his eyes for a moment before being extinguished. He leaned back, removing the

cigarette from his lips.

"Jeff, if you were in trouble, and the woman you love went to see her first love, what do you think she

intends to do?"

Ian had been holding onto this question for days, the issue that was gnawing at his heart.

Jeff, without realizing that Ian was referring to Maja, responded without hesitation.

"I'd think she wants to rekindle her relationship with her first love. If she's still longing for him after so

long, it means she doesn't like me."

Anyone would come to the same conclusion.

Even if Ian was emotionally obtuse, he had figured this out.

So, he chose to hold his ground.

Because accepting this reality felt like a defeat.

After Jeff finished speaking, he realized that Ian might have been talking about Maja.

He paused for a few seconds before hastily adding, "But if the woman is Miss Penny, that's a different

story. I don't think she would do such a thing."

"Do you think she likes me?"

"Well, sir, you could ask her directly."

When their car arrived at Greenfield Gardens, Ian got out, instructing Jeff, "Keep pushing the special

team to progress with the investigation."

"Understood."

After Ian had gone, Jeff drove the car to the parking garage.

Back at another villa in Greenfield Gardens, he considered for a moment before sending Maja a text.

[Miss Penny, someone's been relentlessly pursuing the boss.]

Maja was petting Rocky when she received the message.

After two days, Coco was still scared of Rocky.

Rocky was indeed intimidating.

Worried that this would hinder Coco's recovery, Maja had temporarily confined Rocky in the room that

Coco had previously occupied.

The room was spacious, but Rocky had never faced such a confinement before.

As Maja was lying in bed after a shower, pondering over how to respond to the message, she heard

Maria knocking on the door in a panic.

"Ms. Pennyfeather, Rocky has chewed through the door and run off. The bodyguards couldn't catch

him. He jumped over the wall."

Maja's heart dropped. She put down her phone and immediately got dressed.

Coco would get lost in the past, but Rocky had forcibly broken out. With his size, he could be shot on

sight if he startled any pedestrians.

She quickly dialed Ian's number again, but he didn't pick up.
