He was about to roll out of bed when he heard a knock on his bedroom door.
Jeff walked in with a new batch of medications.

That sentence hit lan like a punch in the gut, and he laid back down on his bed.
"Jeff, hand me the meds."
He used to only take his meds when Maja fed them to him, but now he gulped down all his pills in one
go and didn't forget to ask.
"Go ask the doc which meds work the fastest."
Jeff bit back a laugh and kept a straight face.
"Boss, these are the most effective pills you can get. In a month, you'll be up and about. You can't take
your chest wound lightly, it's been infected twice"

Then, Jeff's phone rang. It was about some company business.
Lately, all the big decisions in the company have been made by Dennis, leaving lan out of the loop on
many important documents.
Now, Dennis was getting more and more cocky, even trying to oust everyone in the company who
supported lan.
After ending the call, Jeff relayed this news to lan.
Hearing this, lan's face turned icy. He let out a small chuckle.
He's been too busy figuring out how to win Maja back to bother with these small fries.
He whipped out his phone and made a call to the CEO of the EcoTraverse Group.
The CEO of the EcoTraverse Group was still sleeping, it wasn't time to get up yet, but he quickly
answered the call when he saw it was from lan.
"Mr. Raymond."
"I need you to fly to the homeland tomorrow."
He understood that it was time to take action.
“Alright, Mr. Raymond, l'll follow your lead."
lan hung up, not seeming worried at all about whether Dennis would fall into their trap.
Dennis was a careful guy. He's never slipped up all these years. Now that he's got a 30% stake in the
company, plus lan's ousted with the EcoTraverse Group, Dennis felt he had it in the bag, that’s why
he's been so arrogant.
Once he ousted lan from the Raymond Corporation, Dennis plans on having his way with Maja.
Once he's had his fill, he'd pass her around to the other big shots in the circle.
There were a lot of people in the circle who were fed up with lan. They all wanted a piece of the woman
he liked.
Dennis was enjoying his victory, completely oblivious that his father had secretly given 15% of his
shares to lan.
Dennis's son, Pearson Raymond, sat across from him.
Pearson was busy texting, his expression unreadable.
Dennis picked up his wine glass.
"I just called the CEO of the EcoTraverse Group. We're planning on dealing lan the final blow, make
sure he never recovers. What do you want out of this?"
Pearson was still texting, but when he heard this, he immediately put his phone away.
"I want to crush lan, just like we did with Eric. Make sure he can't rest in peace."
Dennis glanced around, there were two servants in the room.
He said to his bodyguard, "Get rid of those two"
The bodyguard quickly approached the two servants, they had heard something they shouldn't have.
Only when the pleading screams filled the room did Dennis put down his wine glass.
"I've warned you not to bring up Eric casually."
Pearson leaned back with a cold laugh.
"Father, he's dead and gone. What's there to be afraid of?"
Back when Eric died, Dennis thought he'd reap a lot of benefits, but then lan swooped in and took the
successor's position.
