Chapter 897

Chapter 897

If things weren’t that serious, he’d try his best to protect Darlene.

Darlene was a bit nervous. The arrival of the police indicated something must have gone wrong on

Maja’s side.

“All I did was argue with her and smash some stuff from her company. I didn’t expect her to take it so

seriously.”

Thinking about Maja suing Edith, Tyler realized she really was a stickler.

“Okay, I’ll get in touch with the police station.”

Darlene breathed a sigh of relief. “Thanks, Tyler.”

“Don’t thank me yet, you’re just lucky.”

A gleam of triumph flashed in Darlene’s eyes.

Indeed, she was lucky, and she was determined to marry lan!

Maja called the police and thought they would contact her soon. But she didn’t receive a call until the

following noon.

She went to the police station personally, but the officers seemed a bit awkward when they saw her.

“Ms. Pennyfeather, it’s not our fault. Someone ordered us to protect–that–woman.”

Hearing this, Maja instantly thought of lan.

She gritted her teeth in anger. “So, Darlene wasn’t arrested last night?”

“We’re really sorry. We’re in a tough spot too. If we arrested her, everyone present could lose their

jobs.”

Not wanting to cause trouble for them, Maja drove directly to Greenfield Gardens.

Thinking this was another mess lan had caused, Maja decided to have a clear talk with him.

The security at Greenfield Gardens stopped her immediately when they recognized her.

Mr. Raymond’s order hadn’t been lifted, so she couldn’t be allowed in.

“Ms. Pennyfeather, we’re really sorry, but we can’t let you in.”

Fuming, Maja got back into her car and lost her cool.

She floored the gas pedal and drove straight towards the Greenfield Gardens‘ main gate.

Her car wasn’t cheap, and the impact of it at full speed was unimaginable.

“Bang!” novelbin

The gate fell with a loud noise, lying flat on the ground.

Dozens of bodyguards rushed over, but they didn’t dare act against Maja, only watching as her car

crushed the gate and headed straight for the main villa!

This scene was eerily similar to when lan had driven over someone else’s villa before.

lan was in the villa just then, having just recovered from jetlag. He had just come out of the shower

when he heard Maja had arrived.

He thought he must have heard wrong. “Maja?”

“Yes, sir, Ms. Pennyfeather.”

Seeing the bodyguard stutter, lan thought Maja might be in trouble and furrowed his brows.

“What happened to her?”

“Ms. Pennyfeather is fine, but you might be in trouble, sir.”

lan frowned, not understanding what this meant.

Then a loud noise came from downstairs.

He hung up the phone and went downstairs directly.

He was wearing his PJs, water still dripping from his hair. He combed his hair back and opened the

living room door.

What he saw was a wrecked car with a deformed front. He could only imagine how much damage she

had caused on her way here. lan’s face darkened, didn’t this woman have eyes?

The deformation was so bad that the license plate had fallen off. He didn’t notice at first that it was

Maja’s car.

Just as he was about to get angry, he saw Maja getting out of the car.

“Maja?” He was rather surprised.

Seeing him, Maja felt a surge of anger.

She picked up her bag without saying a word, walked up to him, and hit him on the head with it.

lan didn’t dodge, so he got hit and immediately got a bump on his forehead.

“Ouch!” He shouted, backing away in pain.

“Maja, what are you doing? Hitting people as soon as you get

Maja didn’t answer but tried to hit him again with her bag.

lan grabbed her bag and pulled her into his arms.

She started struggling, biting him hard on his shoulder.

Sharp teeth sunk into soft skin, and blood immediately trickled out.

Everyone around went as white as a sheet.

“Sirl”

“Everyone get out!”
