Chapter 851

Chapter 851

After she finished speaking, Wilma lowered her head, her eyelids gently drooping.

“I get why you’re here today, and you want me to make a decision. But I can’t forget him. Got any

solutions for that?”

Maja put down her cup.

“I’m not asking you to forget him, but you got to promise me one thing. After our plan kicks in, you can

chase after Elvis on the down–low, but in public, you can’t let anyone see you’ve got the hots for him.

You’re an actress with mad skills, right? Just mix a little acting into your everyday life.”

Wilma’s eyes suddenly lit up, and she excitedly hugged Maja tight.

I promise you! Mr. Pennyfeather, I won’t let anyone see through me!”

Maja gave a small smile, “Just remember your promise to me.”

“I will! You’re the kindest person to me since my parents passed away.”

Her voice turned raspy as she said this, no longer daring to meet Maja’s eyes.

Maja was silent for a moment, gently patting her head before standing up to leave.

No one knew how this girl weathered her darkest times. She said Maja was kind to her, but Maja hadn’t

done anything particularly grand, which showed the people she’s met over the years hadn’t treated her

well.

When Maja returned to the company, she saw most of the employees still burning the midnight oil

because they’d been swamped recently.

She called over Zoey and ordered lattes for everyone, pulling an all–nighter.

When more than a hundred lattes arrived, the office erupted with cheers.

Maja sat in her office, listening to the noise outside, a faint smile appearing on her face.

As she was about to dive back into her computer, Zoey came in with a steaming cup of honey lemon

tea.

“Mr. Pennyfeather, your stomach ain’t the best. Skip the latte. I’ve got this for you.”

Thanks.”

Maja took the honey lemon tea, casting a glance at Zoey’s complexion.

Zoey looked a bit pale, but her spirits were still high.

“Zoey, who did you borrow the $300,000 from?”

Zoey stiffened, an unnatural look flashing across her face, “A friend.”

Maja quickly wrote a check for $300,000 and handed it to her.

“The interest on $300,000 is quite high, and you’ll need to repay your friend. Use my money to pay

them back, and you can take your time paying me back. I won’t charge you interest.”

Zoey’s eyes welled up immediately, but she quietly pushed the check back.

“No need, Mr. Pennyfeather. Thanks, but my friend didn’t charge me any interest.”

Maja finally felt relieved.

“Next time, if there’s a problem, tell me first.”

Zoey smiled, quickly redirecting her gaze to the files.

“Got it, Mr. Pennyfeather, you’re a really good person. Actually, we all know your goal. That’s why

everyone’s working so hard.”

Maja once said that as long as they could make money, she’d make sure everyone got a piece of the

pie. Now that the money for Tyler’s movie just came in, she gave her staff a raise, getting everyone

fully invested, even willing to share their all at work.

Here, it’s more about ability, not seniority. That’s what drove them to work hard.

This was a society that demanded all, sometimes without any reward. But with Maja, if they gave

100%, they got 200% back.

A1 9 PM, Maja dragged her tired body downstairs. Zoey had already brought the car around.

But the car that pulled up first was Maureen’s.

Clearly, Maureen had also been following the international news and knew lan had signed the risk

agreement.

Now, any mistake lan made could lead to him being replaced as CEO of the Raymond Corporation.

“Maja, you’re truly his nemesis. If he gets ousted, it’s all because of you! You were supposed to stop

him, but you did nothing. Is there any woman more annoying than you?”

Maureen jabbed her finger towards Maja, her eyes full of resentment.

Maja just frowned, got into her car, and ignored her.

No matter what she did, the Raymonds were never going to like her.

Seeing her indifference, Maureen cursed a few times in place before calling Dennis.

“Dennis, I’ll give you my shares, but don’t forget what you promised me.”

There’s no way lan can win with such a risky agreement.

Maureen needed to look out for herself. Dennis becoming CEO was pretty much a done deal.

lan’s done for!
