Chapter 722

Chapter 722

The servant didn’t dare to talk back to his orders, thinking he and Ms. Penny had a beef.

lan came back to his room, feeling a familiar scent lingering.

He flipped the blanket and found a long strand of hair on the pillow, a strand that reached the

shoulder.

He recognized at once that it was Penny’s.

He frowned, rubbing his temples, trying to gather memories of his time with her.

His headache was gone, but he couldn’t remember a thing.

He pulled out his phone and rang up Maja.

But Maja was swamped with work.

“Mr. Raymond.”

“Penny, fancy going out for dinner tonight?”

“I’m swamped today.”

“What about tomorrow?”

“Busy then, too.”

lan went quiet for a while, then asked, “What are you so busy with?” novelbin

“Mr. Raymond, I’m really snowed under. Let’s chat later.”

“But,

n

The call got cut off.

lan was first filled with anger, then resignation.

Probably because he stood her up last night, and she was still mad.

Subconsciously, he touched his wrist and found the agarwood bracelet was gone.

He started looking all over the room.

The bracelet couldn’t get wet, so he probably left it somewhere when he took a shower.

He looked everywhere in the room and even asked the servants, but no one saw the bracelet.

lan called Jeff again, “Jeff, have you seen the agarwood bracelet Penny gave me?”

Jeff remembered the bracelet, “I haven’t seen it since you were discharged.”

Could it be left in the hospital?

lan called the hospital, but they said they hadn’t seen it.

His face turned cold. That was the first gift from Penny. If it was lost, it might make their

misunderstanding worse.

But where could he find it?

Did Maja know? lan called Maja again.

Maja was already swamped with work, and his constant interruption made her cold.

“Mr. Raymond.”

“Penny, have you seen my bracelet?”

“What bracelet?”

Maja didn’t catch on for a moment.

Hearing her response, lan clenched his phone and hung up.

Maja stared at the screen, thinking, what’s his problem?

She took a deep breath and continued the meeting with Zoey.

“What’s Simstar Entertainment’s reaction?”

“Simstar Entertainment has hired internet trolls. All the comments are blaming us now. They even want

to sue us for plagiarizing their script. This has become trending.”

Currently, the top three trending news were all about these two companies.

This was exactly what Maja wanted. Seeing Zoey’s unhappy face, she knew she cared about thecomments.

“Ignore the comments online. At 4 p.m., release your chat screenshots with Funfly and the time we

applied for the copyright.”

By then, the comments would be more lively.

Zoey took a deep breath and replied, “I got it.”

Maja’s silence was seen as avoidance by Funfly.

She once said she would make The Star Movie group disappear. How dare this bitch fight with her?

But then she remembered Shawn Walsh, who appeared in the five–episode script, and she suddenly

felt anxious.

Shawn went to Maja, too. With new hatred on top of old, she wished she could retaliate right now.

But Funfly remembered that lan called her personally to release Shawn.

So, did lan care about Maja or not?

Funfly was starting to feel unsure. After all, there were too many rumors in the entertainment industry.

She immediately contacted Selena to ask about lan and Maja’s relationship.

Hearing the name made Selena angry right away.

“That bitch better not step foot in the Raymond family ever again. My son has nothing to do with her! If

she dares to deceive people using the Raymond family’s name again, I won’t let her off!”

Seeing how much lan’s mother hated Maja, Funfly was immediately pleased.

Now, she could retaliate against Maja without worry.

She called her assistant.

“Keep hiring influencers. Make a bigger fuss about this. Even bring up the student who committed

suicide by jumping off the building again. Let everyone know that the script was written by that

deceased student.”

Respecting the dead was paramount. If people discovered that The Star Movie Group wanted to

plagiarize a dead student’s work, the company would take a significant hit.
