Chapter 567

Chapter 567

Phelps seemed intrigued and gave a nod

When the clock struck nine, all that remained for everyone was to enjoy the view and chat leisurely

By this time, most people had stopped eating, especially the celebrities, who were particularly strict

about their dietary standards.

Maja had changed into another dress. She couldn’t help but chuckle, thinking of the four dresses Maria

had stuffed into her suitcase

At that time, she thought it was unnecessary, two would have been enough.

Who would have thought she would stain one on the first night? What’s next? Someone splashing wine

on her and having to change again?

As she stepped out of the corridor and turned the comer, she bumped into Phelps.

Unlike lan and Fitch, Phelps didn’t need to schmooze around. After having dinner at dusk, he went

upstairs to sleep. Now he was planning to go out to catch some sea breeze.

“Dr. Herrington.” Maja greeted him politely.

Phelps took a glance at her outfit, she looked stunning.

Even though this dress couldn’t compare to the one her grandfather gave her, both were made of top–

notch materials, accentuating her slim figure and delicate skin. Phelps hesitated for a few seconds

before tentatively calling out, “Ms. Penny feather?

Maja offered him a smile and said, “Didn’t you recognize me because of my makeup tonight?”

He looked at her hand and asked, “How’s your hand injury?”

“It’s healed, thank you.”

He pressed the elevator button, and they both stepped in.

He asked her, “Which floor are you heading to?”

“Fifth floor. I haven’t had dinner yet, and I remember they serve supper there.”

Phelps then pressed the button for the fifth floor for her, while he pressed the sixth for himself.

The seventh floor didn’t have a deck; it only had accommodation rooms. If he wanted to enjoy the sea

breeze, it’s better to do it from a higher place.

When they reached the sixth floor, he didn’t leave but asked a question.

“Is your full name Maja Pennyfeather?”

Maja felt a pang in her heart, but she nodded slowly.

“Are you lan’s wife?”

“Dr. Herrington, someone is calling you.”

Phelps turned around, and indeed, someone was waving at him, a familiar face from his circle.

But he just glanced and turned back, saying, “No need to change the subject; I want to know if you are

lan’s wife.”

Maja thought about her impending divorce in two months, so admitting or not didn’t really matter to

her.

If she admitted it, maybe after the divorce she could use this status to get a quick appointment with

him.

After all, it was really difficult to book an appointment with Phelps.

“Yes.”

Phelps nodded, then suddenly reached out and pinched her chin to take a closer look.

“From a doctor’s perspective, your features are harmonious. Your facial bone structure is perfectly

proportioned; your nose is sculpted; and your eyes are round and sharp. You’re top–tier in looks. How

could anyone call you ugly?”

He seemed genuinely puzzled. After a closer look, he let go of her chin.

Maja looked a bit dazed and didn’t even resist when he held her chin.

Phelps tipped his hat politely and said, “My apologies for earlier.”

It wasn’t until he left and the elevator doors closed again that Maja felt a bit dazed.

But she was really hungry, so she went to the buffet area on the fifth floor, got some light food, and sat

in a corner to enjoy it slowly.

Upon reaching the sixth floor, Phelps chatted with a few acquaintances, then stood on the deck,

enjoying the view while letting the effects of the alcohol wear off.

Tyler’s voice came from behind him.

“How strange! I’ve been looking for Penny for an hour and still can’t find her. Where on earth did she

go?”

He didn’t know that Maja had been sleeping in her room.

Phelps then shared a fact with him.

“Ms. Pennyfeather is actually quite attractive. You should stop making those comments about her.”

Tyler understood that Phelps was a doctor and often liked to be meticulous.

If he criticized someone’s looks, Phelps would definitely go and verify it.

Tyler held his glass of wine a bit tighter, annoyed.

“You didn’t really go and tell Maja that I called her ugly, did you?”

Phelps nodded.

Tyler didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. “Can’t you change this meticulous personality of yours? She

dared to sue lan’s grandma, she must be tough. Now I’ve offended her.”

Phelps chuckled, “That’s a good thing, you should break your habit of backbiting.”

“Was I backbiting? I was just telling the truth. You’re just too kind–hearted.”

By ten o’clock, lan finally managed to send everyone away.

Seeing him heading to the top floor, everyone else stopped offering him drinks.

He had had a few too many, and he rubbed his forehead.

When he got to his suite, took a shower, and lay down in bed, he heard the sound of the living room

door opening and the click–clack of high heels.

A sharp glint flashed in his eyes, probably another clueless business partner trying to win him over with

a woman.

He got up and put on his robe, but before he could say anything, he smelled a familiar scent.

This suite only had one bedroom, but the living room was quite large. Usually, only couples would be

arranged in the same suite.

Holden had a bit of a scheme when he gave Maja the ticket.

He still didn’t want her to really divorce his disobedient grandson, so he decided to give it one last try.
