Chapter 447

Chapter 447

lan hopped out of the car, pulling Maja out with him right away.

A bunch of people were waiting there, and the person in charge introduced him to some potential

development sites.

Maja noticed the beach area was pretty vast. She had lived in Crystalbrook Valley for so many years,

yet she knew nothing about this place.

Then she heard the guy in charge say, “Tornadoes hit this place from time to time. But the last tornado

was a decade ago. Our current equipment can’t accurately predict tornadoes. If we had equipment thatcould, this whole area could be developed.”

What he was implying was that if tan could provide a tornado warning system, they could sell him this

area for cheap.

For the Raymond Corporation, building such a device would be a piece of cake.

Ian said, T’ll have people from the Raymond Corporation come and survey the place. They should be

here by the afternoon.”

The guys in charge didn’t expect lan to respond so quickly. They knew that lan held the final decision,

so they pointed towards a villa.

“Mr. Raymond, let’s rest over there first. Later, I’ll drive you around to other places.”

This area was huge–over a hundred kilometers–and not just the area they were looking at now.

Ian nodded and glanced at Maja subconsciously.

Maja remained silent the whole time.

He was somewhat displeased. Was their relationship really that hard to talk about?

It was indeed a bit hard to swallow.

But her husband wasn’t here now.

He put his arm around her waist. novelbin

“Let’s rest over there, then.”

Maja stiffened and shot a glance at Daly and Bob.

-Being affectionate with lan in Greenfield was nothing to her anymore; she was used to it.

But in front of people she knew, the shame was hard to shake off.

Yet lan seemed indifferent. This made her feel as if her thoughts were as dirty as a sewer rat under the

sun.

They, with lan at the center, walked towards the villa.

The person in charge quickly explained.

“This villa, like Riverside Haven, is built for bosses who come to invest. But this place is remote. Even

though the water is clean and the scenery is beautiful, developing this area alone is impossible. The

beach alone isn’t enough to attract tourists. So, previous potential investors pulled out because they felt

the cost was too high.”

But now that the Raymond Corporation was in charge of developing other areas of Crystalbrook Valley,

adding this one wouldn’t be a big deal. It would just be a drop in the bucket.

After all, they had already invested tens of billions; what’s a few more million?

The guy in charge continued.

The main issue is the tornadoes that have been a headache for some investors. There hasn’t been a

tornado since one a decade ago. But we know it will come again sooner or later. Investors are worried

about accidents, and if there are casualties, this place can no longer be developed.”

The people in charge of Crystalbrook Valley really wanted to collaborate with lan. They were now well

acquainted, so there was no need to beat around. the bush.

This was exactly what lan admired about them.

After a few more exchanges, they decided not to disturb lan anymore. They agreed to rest for a couple

of hours and stroll around the area later..

Asking for two separate rooms at this point would only make things awkward, so Maja unconsciously

followed lan.

But then she received a text from Daly.

“Maja, I need to talk to you.”

She hadn’t been in contact with Daly since their last argument. She thought for a moment, then told

lan, “Mr. Raymond, you go ahead. I’ll join you later.”

Then she went to find Daly

Her plan was to avoid making things too ugly; after all, Daly was Lillian’s brother.

But once Daly confirmed everyone else had left, he immediately said, “Maja, what the hell has gotten

into you?”

Maja raised an eyebrow, then calmly said, “Uncle, if you have something to say, just spit it out.”

Daly heaved a sigh and said, “You’ve worked so hard to get out of poverty through your studies. Why

are you acting like those uneducated women who try to get close to rich men? You’re already married,

aren’t you? Your mother would be restless in her grave seeing you like this!”

“You’re married; you should live a good life with your husband. And with Mr. Raymond’s wealth, why

would he marry you? You’re just wasting your youth. Your aunt has told me about your husband s

irresponsibility and his infidelity. But even if you want someone new, you should find someone honest

and reliable. Mr. Raymond doesn’t seem to be that kind of man.”
