Chapter 437

Chapter 437

Maja just spent a solid two hours on her knees, almost getting a heatstroke. Now all she can feel was a

pounding headache, and she can’t drive anymore. She needed to sit down and rest for a bit.

And on top of that, she’s feeling waves of nausea.

She looked down at her knees and can’t help but roll up her pants.

Under the thin fabric, her knees were red and swollen, even peeling in places, causing her to wince in

pain.

The painting that Herbert gave her was still in the car, and thinking about how it’s been torn in two, she

stared blankly at her knee injuries.

In another car.

Jeff had obviously noticed Maja. The car was free to go now, but he can’t resist pointing her out.

“Mr. Raymond, it seems to be Ms. Penny.”

lan can’t resist either and told Jeff to pull over. He grabbed a bottle of water and an umbrella and

stepped out.

Maja was sitting in a shady spot with a tree providing some cover, but it’s a hot day, and she could

easily get heatstroke just sitting there. lan approached her and handed her the bottle of water.

He quickly noticed her knee injuries and frowned.

1. 1.

Maja, however, didn’t immediately take the water he offered. She looked up and saw lan’s face but

made no move to take the bottle.

lan started to pull his hand back, but at that moment, she took the water, murmuring a quiet “Thank

you.”

He held the umbrella above them, the silver handle making him appear even more impressive.

After standing there for a moment, he suddenly reached out, grabbed her hand, and pulled Maja to her

feet.

Caught off guard, Maja stumbled into his arms, his scent filling her nostrils.

“You had plenty of energy to yell at me the other day. What’s with the lethargic attitude now?”

He’s clearly mocking her.

Maja knew he would hold a grudge about what happened, She quickly apologized, saying, “Mr.

Raymond, it’s all my fault.” “What happened to your knees?” novelbin

“I fell.”

lan was skeptical. It didn’t look like a fall. It looked like a burn.

He gave her the umbrella.

Maja, somewhat dazed, accepted it. The next second, he scooped her up and carried her to his car.

By the time they got in the car, Maja had already put the umbrella away.

She sit next to lan, and Jeff, who’s in the front seat, wisely lowered the windshield shade and stepped

on the gas.

Maja discreetly contacted the driver at Rosewood Manor to have him come and took her car back to

RosenGarden.

Suddenly, she stiffened.

Because lan had gently rolled up the leg of her other pant, revealing the other injured knee.

Both knees were peeling, and the wounds were bleeding.

These kinds of injuries were the most painful; they hurt just from being touched lightly.

She frowned and then saw lan’s hand continuing to roll up her pants, all the way up to her thigh.

Both her legs were now exposed.

For some reason, she felt a little uncomfortable.

Maja can’t help but shift back a bit, feeling even hotter.

lan’s clothes didn’t have a single wrinkle; he’s doing this very methodically.

Her legs were very beautiful, with no extra fat and smooth skin, which only made the injuries seem

more horrific..

When the car stopped in front of the hotel, Maja didn’t have a chance to refuse before he’s carrying her

up to his room through the private elevator.

In his room, he set her down on the couch, then went to get a first aid kit.

Only then did Maja realize that lan can actually be quite gentle.

“Brace yourself. It might hurt a bit.”

He brought over some disinfectant and warned her..

Maja nodded and watched as he sprayed the disinfectant.

lan thought she would flinch, but she just quietly lowered her lashes, seemingly unaffected by the pain.

If this were Carlene, she would call him at least twenty times a day, demanding that he stay by her

side.

He felt a bit uncomfortable.

A woman who can bear pain was not a good thing..

Unless she learned a long time ago that pain didn’t solve problems.

He squeezed out some ointment and applied it.

“Don’t wear long pants for the next few days.”

Maja nodded, leaning back on the couch. She’s starting to feel sleepy.

lan noticed that her body temperature was high, so he found a fever reducer in the medical kit.

Just then, Edith called again.

“lan, where are you?”

lan frowned, preparing some hot water as he answered.

“I’m a bit busy today, Edith. I’ll come see you another day.”

“Don’t get involved with Maja. She’s not right for you.”

“You’ve met Maja?”

Edith was suddenly at a loss for words. She can’t let lan know that she’s been hard on Maja and made

her kneel for two hours.

“I’ve met her once. She doesn’t act like someone from a prominent family. She’s calculating and

clumsy in her methods.”
