Chapter 414

Chapter 414

In Greenfield, the number of women who wanted to get in bed with lan was off the charts, but Maja was

the only one who got ticked off by lan’s constant

advances.

lan saw her turn away, refusing to listen to his spiel.

He took off his pricey suit and spread it out on the fancy tiled floor.

Then he lifted her and placed her on it.

Maja didn’t put up a fight this time.

After all, how many chances did one get to sit on a suit as expensive as lan’s in a lifetime?

Besides, she just managed to score a deal with Judson thanks to lan’s fame.

Feeling her resistance melt away, lan leaned over to kiss her.

One standing, one sitting, they kissed for fifteen minutes until the ring of his phone interrupted them. It

was probably his business partners calling because he hadn’t returned their calls.

Then he let go of her,

Maja was panting with her forehead against his shoulder, inhaling his subtle scent that was cool yet

elegant. It was as though he was sucking out her soul.

lan took the call right next to her ear, then said to the person on the other end of the line, “I’ll be right

there.”

After hanging up, he patted her back gently.

Maja could feel the slight vibration of his chest through the thin fabric of his shirt when he spoke since

she was leaning against him.

He asked, “Who did you come here with tonight?”

“I came alone,” she replied.

Knowing that lan had business to attend to, she got off the suit which he nonchalantly tossed into a

nearby garbage bin.

He dumped such an expensive suit without a second thought.

“Your short hair looks good,” he complimented her.

Maja picked up her bag, blushing from his praise, her ears turning red.

“Thank you,” she responded.

lan, now in only a shirt, was about to ask Jeff to see her out when he heard Nathan’s voice.

“Penny.”

Nathan’s forehead was covered in sweat, he seemed to have rushed back to look for her after seeing

Judson out.

He turned to lan and politely greeted, “Mr. Raymond.”

lan’s eyes became cold, and the little joy he felt evaporated. novelbin

Maja didn’t expect Nathan to show up. Hearing lan scoff and walk past her and Nathan, the

atmosphere turned icy cold.

Nathan was too scared to speak, not knowing how he had offended lan. He silently moved to Maja’s

side.

lan couldn’t help but glance at the two of them when he pushed open the door to the booth. It was a

sight for sore eyes.

When he entered the booth, everyone saw that his suit was missing. He had it on when he went out to

take the call.

Now in just a white shirt and black trousers, he looked very youthful.

In reality, lan wasn’t that old.

“Mr. Raymond, where’s your suit?” asked someone, thinking he might have forgotten it and was ready

to send someone to find it.

lan smiled, sat down, and said, “It got dirty, so I threw it out.”

Jeff, sitting next to him, quickly picked up on his mood.

lan was always good at keeping his cool, always firm when dealing with competitors. He had a strong

sense of self–respect and rarely lost control.

Jeff couldn’t help but wonder if lan had run into someone while on the call.

After the gathering, Jeff found lan’s suit in the trash when he went to the restroom.

Each of lan’s suits was handpicked and tailored from the finest fabrics.

And now, such a costly piece of clothing was discarded in the trash.

Jeff kept silent and returned to the booth. Ian was saying his goodbyes, and everyone was leaving.

lan, looking quite upset, lost his smile as soon as he sat down in his car and started unbuttoning his

shirt.

“Jeff.”

He called out.

Jeff turned around, respectful as ever, “Yes?”

lan frowned, hesitated for a moment, and then said, “Nothing, let’s go.”

Jeff didn’t dare to ask further and quietly stepped on the gas.

lan was puzzled. What was this complicated feeling?

Or maybe, it’s inevitable for a man to feel possessive after getting involved with someone?

If that’s the case, then it’s normal.

He didn’t really like her.

He couldn’t possibly fall for someone else’s wife.

Maybe he would lose interest in her after a while.
