Chapter 353

Chapter 353

Maja thought she had nailed the look of worry and was about to head to the hospital when Connie

called.

“Penny, when did Coco go missing? I’ll come to help you look.”

Connie’s enthusiasm took Maja aback, and she didn’t know how to respond.

Connie seemed more worried than if she had lost her own dog.

“Where are you? I’ll come over to check the surveillance footage together.” novelbin

“No need, I’ve posted a message on Facebook. My old friends will keep an eye out for me, and Coco is

pretty smart.”

“No matter how smart, Coco is still a dog. There are lots of dog-nappers these days. I’ve messaged lan

to help look for Coco too, but he hasn’t replied.” Maja thought to herself that he had not replied to her

land even held her dog hostage.

She couldn’t figure out what lan was thinking.

Could it be because of that cat of Carlene’s before?

But that was all water under the bridge.

She was confused.

She’d sooner believe in the end of the world than the idea that lan would attract her attention in such a

way.

Carlene was the only thing she could think of.

Then she sighed. Even though he had sent Dana abroad, no one could shake Carlene’s position in

lan’s heart.

“Penny, just send me your location, and I’ll come right over.”

Connie was just too eager.

Feeling embarrassed to refuse, Maja had already arrived at RosenGarden and was about to get out of

the car when she spotted a suspicious figure in her -rear–view mirror.

Having been brought into a private room by two men before, she was extra vigilant now, locking her car

doors at the first sign of suspicious activity. The figure quickly approached her.

Maja immediately stepped on the gas and bolted.

Her heart was pounding as her eyes darted to the rear–view mirror.

The figure was wearing a hoodie with the hood pulled low. She couldn’t see his face.

But he had started to approach her car as soon as she had parked. He must have recognized her

license plate.

Maja immediately thought of Glenn.

She was anxious, feeling unsafe wherever she went.

Ever since that incident, Glenn lurked in the shadows like a venomous snake, waiting for the right

moment. And now he was ambushing her at RosenGarden.

What should she do? Go back to the hotel?

But who’s to say Glenn wouldn’t follow her there?

The only safe place was Rosewood Manor, where security was tightest.

But she didn’t know if lan would be back at Rosewood Manor tonight.

Given the presence of the dog and his allergy to dog hair, he probably wouldn’t return.

But Maja didn’t dare to take the risk.

The Pennyfeather family was already on the brink of danger. If her identity were to be exposed,

causing lan to get really angry, there would be no chance for the Pennyfeather family to make a

comeback.

She kept checking her rear–view mirror, worrying that Glenn was following her.

In the end, she saw a car speeding toward her with no signs of slowing down.

Maja took a deep breath, floored the gas pedal, and drove towards Rosewood Manor.

Glenn, with his eyes bloodshot, stared ahead, itching to ram into her.

But no matter how fast he drove, Maja was faster, as if she could read his mind.

Glenn floored the gas pedal, the sound of sirens filled the air, and the police were closing in on him.

But he was not giving up; he had to have Maja today!

The residential area around Rosewood Manor had a speed limit, and as Maja drove in, she parked her

car inside Rosewood Manor.

The security guard recognized the car and let her in swiftly.

Meanwhile, Glenn was surrounded by the police before he could get in.

He slammed his steering wheel in frustration, glaring in the direction of Rosewood Manor.

When Cristina received a call from the police station, she frowned. She had thought it was news about

Carter.

She had informed the police that Carter was missing and was worried about his safety.

But the police station wanted her to pick up Glenn.

When she arrived at the police station, Glenn was creating a scene with the staff.

Startled, Cristina quickly paid the fine and got him in the car.

But Glenn was far from grateful.

“It’s all your fault. You couldn’t control yourself, having an affair with Carter. If not for that, I wouldn’t be

in this mess.”

Cristina felt somewhat embarrassed in front of her only son.

“Glenn, if Neil wakes up, he might ask for Holden’s help. Carter and I are sure to go to jail. Now that

Carter is missing, I’m thinking about selling my shares first. We can take the money and leave

Greenfield.”
