Chapter 344

Chapter 344

He just couldn’t buy it, urging his folks not to fall for it lest they get scammed. He had no clue where

they got that piece of news from.

However, to his shock, his parents came back a few hours later with a whopping 300,000 dollars.

Ferris Pennyfeather could hardly believe his eyes when he went to the bank to settle the loan.

30 years of mortgage, all paid off at once, and still, a good chunk of change left.

“I’ve paid off the loan ahead of schedule, and the bank has already deducted the money; we won’t

have to worry about the mortgage anymore.”

Hattie Zimmer’s eyes were filled with excitement, which quickly turned into greed.

“Neil is loaded now and can easily cough up 300,000 dollars. His mansion is swanky. One floor is

probably hundreds of square meters, with plenty of space for us to move in. You can rent out this placenovelbin

and collect the rent.”

Ferris Pennyfeather felt a twinge of envy, but he was unsure if Neil would agree since his parents had

hardly cared about Neil over the years, and now they wanted to move into his mansion.

“Didn’t you say Neil is still in a coma?”

“Yes, Neil is still out cold. His second wife has a son with another man. If something were to happen to

Neil, wouldn’t the Pennyfeather family’s company and assets fall into the hands of this outsider? Neil

has two daughters, one named Maja and the other named Tricia; you’ve already met Maja, while Tricia

has a shaky health. What can two women do? You can adopt one of your sons to Neil; he would be

mighty grateful.”

Abram Pennyfeather nodded along and said, “She’s got a point. What can women do? You should

come with us to see Neil; he runs a company. You won’t have to worry about being sacked. Our whole

family can work at his company!”

On hearing this, Ferris Pennyfeather started to feel the heat. If something really happened to Neil,

wouldn’t all that money fall into the

hands of his second wife?

His face turned red in urgency as if his money was being taken away.

Ferris Pennyfeather was Neil’s younger brother, and their parents had always favored him and put him

first.

Even though his grades were worse than Neil’s, his parents made Neil drop out of school so he could

continue his education.

When Neil got married and had a daughter, his parents liked him even less.

They were glad that Ferris Pennyfeather was doing well. His wife had given birth to two sons!

While they were still thrilled, a call came in, saying that he might not want to give them money if they

didn’t go to the hospital to see Neil when he woke up.

Abram Pennyfeather and Hattie Zimmer thought it made sense. They hurried to the hospital, telling

Ferris Pennyfeather, “You stay home and wait for our good news. We will definitely make Neil take one

of your sons, then the Pennyfeather family’s assets will be your

son’s.”

Ferris Pennyfeather’s cheeks turned red with excitement, and he nodded.

“Then you guys better get going!”

Hattie Zimmer and Abram Pennyfeather arrived at the hospital where Neil was, intending to visit him.

But, the two bodyguards at the door would not let them in.

Hattie Zimmer was frantic, and she slapped one of the bodyguards across the face.

“Do you know who I am? The patient inside is my son! You dare to stop me from seeing him. Your

behavior is suspicious. And you two are professional bodyguards, aren’t you dogs fed by my son?

How dare you yell at us!”

Hattie Zimmer was the hot–tempered kind, always ready to throw a fit. Her wish was not fulfilled, so

she began to hit people.

They were both in their seventies; the bodyguards pushed them away, and Abram Pennyfeather fell

helplessly to the ground.

“Oh my God, doctor, come quickly. Someone wants to kill my husband.”

The bodyguards looked grave, and they immediately called Maja.
