Chapter 298

Chapter 298

That night, Maja slept like a baby and woke up feeling refreshed.

The first thing she did was grab her phone. There was a missed call from lan from his private number.

Maja frowned.

“Did Holden give him a hard time again?” she wondered.

She sent him a text while she was brushing her teeth and getting ready for the day.

“Anything up?”

By then, lan had already arrived at the Raymond Corporation.

Seeing her casual text rubbed him the wrong way. But he wasn’t about to lose his cool over a woman.

So he deleted the message.

If Holden had let it go, he saw no reason to keep in touch with her.

Maja didn’t expect lan to reply anyway. After all, she had used her private number. He probably only

called out of respect for Holden.

After freshening up, she immediately called Holden to check on him.

To her surprise, Holden saw her as a poor, heartbroken woman neglected by her husband.

“Maja, rest assured, I’m always on your side. If anything like this happens again, let me know. I’ll make

lan apologize to you.”

lan had always been independent, growing up under Holden’s wing, so he greatly respected him.

That was why he had agreed to get married when Holden asked him to, all for the sake of his health.

“As for Carlene, don’t worry about her. I won’t let her marry lan. Even without you, she wouldn’t stand a

chance.”

So Carlene was out of the picture in Holden’s eyes.

Maja’s eyes welled up with tears as she listened to Holden’s comforting words.

“Holden, thank you.”

A smile spread across Holden’s face, dissipating his irritation from the night before.

“You don’t need to thank me. Rosewood Manor is your wedding gift from me. Only you can decide

who’s allowed in. Even lan ha’s no right to stay if you want him out. Your name is on the deed

So, when she got married, Holden gave her the house.

Maja knew it was a wedding gift from Holden to her and lan, but she didn’t know the deed was in her

name.

“And I arranged for the deed before you got your marriage certificate. So Rosewood Manor is your

premarital property.”

Holden’s words warmed her heart. She feared her voice would crack with emotion if she went on.

She felt that apart from her mother, Holden and Herbert were the kindest people she knew.

After hanging up, she had a peaceful morning. She leisurely made breakfast, and after eating, she

went to the hospital.

The Shepard family.

Ever since Carlene returned from Rosewood Manor, she had been throwing a tantrum in her room.

The thought of Holden’s humiliation made her see red.

It was infuriating!

What was so great about that ugly woman that Holden would humiliate Carlene for her?

“You’ve locked yourself in your room all night. Come out and eat something.”

Dana Shepard knocked on the door, with her voice filled with worry.

Carlene took a deep breath. She had been too eager. She knew Holden didn’t fancy her, but she

rushed to Rosewood Manor because of Selena’s words, only to give her enemies a handle. novelbin

Her eyes were red, and there was a taste of blood in her mouth.

“Come in.”

Dana sighed in relief and quickly walked in.

“What happened?”

“Didn’t you meet a lot of socialites in Greenfield? Send them a message, tell them lan’s wife is

flirtatious and even caught betraying Mr. Raymond. Holden only lets her stay in the Raymond family

because she once saved his life. And she’s not even good–looking. Make sure you send it

anonymously.”

If Holden was so satisfied with lan’s wife, then she would ruin that woman’s reputation!

This was Dana’s strong suit.
