Chapter 1806

As Carol was on the brink of slumber, her phone buzzed with a new message from Listina.

It was a picture of Felix. He was sprawled out on the couch by the bed, deep in sleep. But his facewas still handsome, the very reason Carol had fallen for him at first sight.

[Felix isn't going back tonight. He's staying here with me, Carol. You're such a tramp, really. Justthink, you married him and he still spends his nights like this with me. The villa he bought for me isright next door to your place. If I were you, I'd be sick to my stomach. Oh, and by the way, we'vealready done the deed, and guess what? He didn't take medication while doing it with me, only withyou.]

In the past, Carol would forward Listina's provocative messages to Felix. The first few times, hisindifferent response was always, "She's suffering from depression, not in her right mind, and she'sbeen bedridden for years. Why lower yourself to her level?"

Hearing the same answer over and over again, Carol stopped bothering. Besides, she had figuredout how to get back at Felix. Listina's messages disgusted her, but they weren't unbearableanymore.

She thought it would be fricking best if those two stayed tangled up together forever. If Felix didn'twant to get married, that was fine by her. She truly didn't want to marry Felix.

After everything that had happened, if she still entertained the thought of marrying him, she'd bereal cheap.novelbin

She closed her eyes, trying to sleep, but then another message from Listina popped up.

[Felix woke up. He's kissing me now, and we're about to get started. Want me to livestream it foryou, Ms. Miller?]

Carol usually had no desire to engage with Listina. After all, she’d interacted with her multiple timesand each time she’d behave like a lunatic.

Pressing her lips, she hit the mute button on her phone, resting it beside her pillow. However, sleepeluded her. She wasn't keen on marrying Felix, but that didn't mean she was completely indifferentto everything about him.

She picked up her phone again and scrolled to her chat with Nathan.

[Are you asleep?]

Nathan replied almost instantly.

[No, can't sleep?]

Carol watched as he typed, raising an eyebrow.

When she was dating Felix, he rarely responded so quickly, but she figured he must be quick toreply to Listina. She found it amusing, telling herself she didn't care, yet she couldn't help makingcomparisons.

A wicked idea crossed her mind - to let herself fall into this mess, making life hell for everyone, including herself. She was so tired, sometimes feeling like she could barely hold on.

Her most beloved had swindled her out of a fortune, sending her father to jail, betraying her love, her body. All the resentment was building up, and she desperately wanted to lash out in revenge, orshe might be the next one to fall into depression.

Nathan sent a few more messages in quick succession.

[If you can't sleep, I'm here to chat.]

[What interests you, Ms. Miller? Or maybe a trip to Crystalbrook Valley? That's where Ms.Pennyfeather grew up; I know it quite well.]

[Or how about a drive in the countryside tomorrow? They've just developed a big park out there;heard it's got some nice views.]

Carol hadn't been out for a long time. Felix had kept her on a tight leash, only recently allowing hersome freedom, but if she didn’t return on time, he’d get mad.

However, he felt free to spend the entire night with Listina without a word. The classic case ofdouble standards by forbidding others to do what he was doing himself.

Carol chuckled to herself, feeling a sense of vindication from Nathan's barrage of messages thatlifted her spirits.

[Don't you have work tomorrow?]

[I do, but I can finish early. Meet at 4 PM?]

Nathan's eagerness nearly leaped off the screen, and Carol found it quite amusing.

[Sure, I'll wait for you at the mall closest to the Miller Group building.]
