Chapter 1501

As Maja Pennyfeather felt someone touching her, anger knitted her brows.

But she couldn't move; Patrick had administered some injection into her at some point, and while she

was acutely aware of her surroundings, her body refused to respond.novelbin

Quentin Gellar leaned in, "Ms. Pennyfeather, you're about to marry Patrick. Did you know?"

A flicker of shock crossed Maja's eyes.

Had Patrick lost his mind? She was pregnant, and he wanted to marry her now?!

Who was this person, and where had he gotten his information?

She blinked furiously, attempting to speak, but no words came out.

Quentin noticed her state, his forehead creased with concern. He was no medical genius and had no

clue what had befallen her.

"Do you want to marry him? If not, blink once."

Maja blinked over twenty times, her cheeks flushed with indignation.

Yet, she had a nagging premonition that Patrick was resolute in his goal, and no one knew what he was

up to—it certainly wasn’t anything good.

Quentin, getting the message, nodded and left the room.

Timothy Bradshaw stood outside the door, with a smile gracing his face.

"Elder, you've arrived at quite the opportune moment to raise a toast for celebration."

Quentin felt an inexplicable surge of irritation. If it were any other woman, he would have stayed out of

it, but why did it have to be Maja?

Ignoring Timothy, he retreated to his own room.

Sitting in his chair, he heard noises from outside. It seemed the Bradshaw family’s servants were

already preparing for the wedding.

Patrick really couldn't wait, could he?

Quentin was curious about what Ian Raymond would do tonight, and whether he would guess right that

Patrick’s bride-to-be was Maja.

Feeling restless, he decided to hit the sack early.

In the dead of night, his contact brought news that more of K's people had shown up.

He still didn't want to get involved, even though his instincts told him he should pull out immediately.

Quentin sat up on the edge of his bed; as he was about to reply to the message, he heard some faint

footsteps outside.

A strange scent wafted into the room.

He popped a pill into his mouth and swiftly exited through the window.

Arriving at Ian's room, he found the same odd smell but no sign of Ian, who must have also sensed that

something was amiss.

What was the Bradshaw family planning?

Quentin's eyes narrowed, just as gunshots and the boom of cannon fire echoed in the distance, albeit

far from the Bradshaw estate.

He quickly contacted his own people, eager to find out what was happening.

"Mr. Gellar, there's a clash outside between two forces—one's Ian's, and the other's K's. Looks like

they've stumbled upon each other."

Quentin didn't want to interfere, but after hanging up, he worried that Ian might not make it off

Forbidden Island.

He hurried to Maja's room, only to find Patrick blocking the door.

"What are you doing here this late, Patrick?"

Patrick raised his hand to bar Quentin's way.

Quentin scoffed, "You do know who I am, don't you?"

"Nobody should disturb her now, no matter who it is."

Quentin drew out a dagger and lunged.

But Patrick dodged skillfully and counterattacked.

With a shove and a high kick, Quentin sent the gun flying.

The two were at it again, their scuffle causing the door to rattle violently.

"Bang! Bang!"

Gunshots rang out, followed by the thud of a heavy object hitting the floor.
