Chapter 1493

Maja's face drained of color in an instant. What memory had he unearthed that filled him with such

loathing for Ian? Hadn't he already taken over this body completely? Was Eric truly gone forever?

Frozen in place as if someone had struck her with a paralyzing spell, Maja stood motionless.

Patric let out a mocking chuckle. "Beat it, go take a nap on the bed or something."

"I need the antidote."

Her tone turned icy and stubborn.

"There's no antidote. Let that little brat die."

That sentence struck a nerve in Maja, reminding her of the child she had lost. She lunged at him, and

clawed at his throat with her hands.

But her panic over what she'd just ingested was overwhelming; she even started to feel a pain in her

stomach.

"The antidote, give it to me!"

Patric didn't struggle, aware that Maja barely had any strength.novelbin

Desperate, she started ransacking the table for the antidote, but there were too many bottles and jars—

no way to know which one was the cure.

Patric dusted off the imaginary dirt from his shoulders with a nonchalant air.

"I haven't made the antidote yet, and you're running out of time."

Maja's mind buzzed; with her legs giving out, she collapsed to the floor.

Kneeling beside her, Patric looked at her dazed expression and suddenly reached out to touch her

cheek.

"Don't touch me!"

She slapped his hand away as if it were something vile.

Patric found her reaction amusing and let out a few laughs before anger tinged the corners of his eyes.

"So who can touch you? Ian can, huh? Makes sense, after all, you've got his kid. I wonder how many

times you've been together."

"It's none of your business!"

"Maja, you really don't want to rile me up."

He grabbed her hand and ripped open the shirt she was wearing.

"If I wanted to be involved, I could be right now."

Enraged and helpless, Maja trembled all over; she even felt clueless about her whereabouts.

Overwhelmed and faint from not eating, she passed out from hypoglycemia.

"Maja?"

"Maja!"

Patric called out twice before scooping her up and striding towards the bed.

Meanwhile, BLACK had arrived at the Bradshaw estate.

Accompanying BLACK were a few members of the Porter family.

The old patriarch of the Porter family had sustained minor injuries on Middle Island and had come to

discuss serious matters with the Bradshaw family.

Timothy, sitting at the head of the table with a smile, was lean and wiry, but he didn't look weak.

"Ralap, what happened to you?"

Injured, Ralap was pale and seemed in poor shape.

His implication was clear: the families should unite to fend off this external threat.

A flicker of coldness crossed Timothy's eyes. Clearly, this attack was aimed at the Porter family, and

now the old fox wanted to drag others into his troubles.

He glanced at Mr. BLACK, who was as reserved as ever. New ch?pter avаilable o? Dr?мanоvеls.cоm

"You must be shaken, Mr. BLACK. I'll give this matter careful consideration, but I need a month."

Perhaps the Bradshaw family could avoid muddying the waters.

"A month is a long time, Mr. Bradshaw. Think carefully. Those people are relentless."

Ian, with his face shrouded beneath his cloak, noticed several housemaids bustling in and out of the

great hall.

He greeted Ralap before approaching one of the maids, asking, "Excuse me, could you tell me where

the restroom is?"
