Chapter 1396

Two cars sped toward Crystalbrook Valley, and this time, Fitch had wisened up. He had a convoy of

bodyguards trailing the vehicles, ensuring the mishaps of the past wouldn't repeat themselves.

His laptop rested on his knees, his fingers tapping away, a tight frown creasing his brow.

Dylan was in the other car, his phone buzzing with a barrage of messages, most of them from Judith.

After Augus had cut Judith off, he severed all her credit lines. The high society circles, which were

notorious for their vicious hierarchy, buzzed with speculation. They wondered what catastrophe had

befallen the once-celebrated Sanders family’s daughter to cause her sudden fall from grace.

Dylan sat up straight, his brows furrowing as he read the desperate pleas from Judith on his screen.novelbin

He had always believed she was his sister, ever since his father had told him to look out for her. That

command had etched itself deep into his psyche.

[Dylan, everyone's laughing at me. I'm in so much pain; my heart hurts. Am I going to die?]

[I swear I didn't mean to set up Jolin; it was Maja I was after. I had no idea Jolin would be in the car.

Dylan, is it possible someone set me up, using my hatred for Maja to drive a wedge between me and

the Sanders family? Why won't anyone believe me? Haven't they pampered me for years? Even if I'm

not truly a Sanders, could I have chosen this?]

As Dylan read the message, he rubbed his temples. His phone rang yet again, Judith's name flashing

on the screen. He'd been ignoring her calls, but something about that last message compelled him to

answer.

Judith's sobs filled his ear the moment he pressed the button.

"Dylan, I thought you'd decided to write me off for good." She wept, "It hurts so much. I got beaten up

yesterday, but I didn't dare fight back. Now, no one's on my side. Dylan, where are you? Can I come

see you?"

Dylan felt like something was stuck in his throat.

Judith had always been dependent on him, the most reliant person in the whole Sanders family. His

affection for her was undeniable, but deep down, he cherished the bond with his real sister even more.

"Judith, about this sabotage, I'll look into it." He said, "Just stay put in the villa; don't cause trouble, and

you'll be provided for."

Judith bit her lip. How could she possibly stay hidden when she couldn't stomach the thought of Maja

living a comfortable life?

Was Dylan investigating Jolin's identity now? If the Sanders family ever discovered that Maja was the

real Ms. Sanders, Judith's humiliation would be unbearable.

Her hatred for Maja was unyielding; Maja had snatched away Ian, her beloved. For that alone, Judith

wished the vilest torture upon her.

Though her mouth tasted of blood, she forced a tone of frailty, "I understand, Dylan. I'll wait calmly in

the villa for your return."

After hanging up, Judith wanted to scream, to flip the table in front of her. Her chest heaved in furious

tremors, her fists clenched tightly.

She couldn't sleep, tormented by the thought that the Sanders family might announce the return of their

long-lost daughter at any moment.

She was restless, even fantasizing about how convenient it would be if Augus were to die right then. If

it weren't for Augus, her secrets wouldn't have unraveled so quickly.

Damn it all! She wished they would all just drop dead!

At night, curled up in her bed, Judith couldn't shake the feeling that someone was in her room. The

villa, belonging to Dylan, had lax security, and only a couple of servants were there for her.

It was as if Judith had been exiled to a cold, forgotten chamber.

"Who's there?!" She snapped on the bedside lamp, and there in her room was indeed an unexpected

figure - a man wearing a mask, seated by the window.

His voice was so soft it seemed to blend with the night breeze.

"You know, you're not entirely out of options. I can help you."
