Chapter 1290

But she just couldn't bring herself to do it, and in that moment, tears began to stream down her face.

"Mr. Raymond, you promised me that you loved me, that you'd do anything for me. I can't believe it."

Her voice was loud, so loud that it was impossible for Maja, who was inside the room, to ignore it.

It was only then that Maja was sure that during her absence, another woman had indeed appeared in

Ian's life.

At least Patric had been honest about that.

Now, hearing the girl's sobs, Maja opened the door.

Ian was growing impatient. After all, this woman had already taken hundreds of thousands from him;

what more could she possibly want?

Hearing the door open behind him, he was startled and quickly turned around, only to find Maja

standing there at the doorway.

Her eyes were sightless, one of her hands lightly resting on the door frame.

"Ian."

She called out his name and Ian, feeling guilty, responded before quickly taking her hand.

"Maja, why don't you go back to bed? You didn't look too well."

"Ian, who is this girl?"

Ian didn't dare to answer; instead he held onto her hand even tighter.

It was Jolin who decided to introduce herself.

"I'm Mr. Raymond's girlfriend. We've only recently made it official. He bought a couple of companies for

me and now he wants to break up with me. I really don't want to part ways with Mr. Raymond. Miss, am

I a threat to you? I beg you. Let me stay by Mr. Raymond's side. I really love him, and I don't need any

title or status. I beg you, please spare me."

Jolin spoke and then dropped to her knees.

Maja, being blind, could only hear the sound of her knees hitting the floor.

She was taken aback, then realized that this woman was smarter than she thought. She was trying to

make Ian think that Maja was a jealous woman, unable to tolerate a simple and innocent girl like her.

She didn't respond, just standing there coldly.

And her silence only increased Ian's stress.

He had messed up after all, so he quickly called Jeff and his bodyguards over.

"Take her away and pack up her things."

"Sure thing, boss."

Jeff had predicted this day would come, so he was not surprised.

When Jolin realized what was happening, she clung onto Maja's clothes.

"Miss, let me stay, please. Mr. Raymond has so much energy, you can't take care of him all by yourself,

especially with your blindness. I'm still a student, and I'm clean. Instead of letting Mr. Raymond go out

and find other women, why not let him come to me? Besides, I look so much like you. We even went to

the same high school. I'm also studying art at Solstice College. Miss, we have so much in common. I

don't mind sharing Mr. Raymond with you."

She gripped Maja's dress tightly.

Ian was getting panicked and motioned for the bodyguards to take Jolin away.

Jolin started crying louder.novelbin

Maja, hearing her pitiful cries, frowned slightly.

"Let her stay."

Jolin was stunned; had she misheard?

Was this woman really willing to let her stay and share a man between them?

Ian was left shocked at Maja's words.

"Maja, I was just angry, angry that you didn't want me."

"So you just gave another girl hope? She's still a student."

The lighter Maja's tone, the more guilty Ian felt.

Jolin also chimed in.

"Miss, Mr. Raymond really dotes on me. He often holds me and takes me to all kinds of gatherings. I've

even met his friends. I'm really upset. His attitude changed too quickly. But I'm already in love with

him."

It was normal for a girl her age, with a man who spoiled her like Ian did, to fall in love.

But Ian was simply playing with her feelings.

Before, Ian was never like this. Even when he thought he liked Carlene Shepard, he never played with

other people's feelings like this.

Jolin finally realized, begging Ian was useless, she had to beg Maja.

Just as she was about to speak, Ian looked towards the bodyguard.

Understanding the cue, the bodyguard covered Jolin's mouth and began to drag her away.

Not hearing Jolin's voice, Maja asked, "Ian?"

Ian was always confident and assertive in business. But when it came to dealing with Maja, he was at a

loss, especially since this was his mistake.

"Ian, aren't you going to say something?"

Her voice was calm, her hand still resting on the door frame.

"Maja, I'm sorry. I was just upset."

Maja closed her eyes, feeling tired and at a loss for words.

She felt a twinge of pain and a deep sense of helplessness.

She wasn't sure why she was so angry; this intense feeling of betrayal was overwhelming and she

couldn't control it. So, without thinking, she raised her hand and slapped him across the face.

The sound echoed throughout the room, leaving the bodyguards stunned.

Jolin, who was still being held, was shocked that Maja had the courage to hit Ian.

Was she tired of living?

This was good news for Jolin though. Ian would definitely get rid of Maja now, just like throwing away a

piece of garbage!

A smile crept onto her face; she was sure she was going to stay. Ian would never keep a woman with

such an unstable mood around.

But the next moment, she froze.

She saw Ian, who had always appeared so high and mighty in front of her, holding onto Maja's hand.

"You've hit me. Are you calm now? I was just resentful. How could you forget me so quickly? How could

you abandon me like that?"

Maja pressed her lips, not saying a word, just feeling her chest tremble.

She didn't know why she was so angry, her mood out of control.

Her head started to throb again.
