Chapter 1168

Maja had already bolted outside, her face as white as a sheet.

“Maja!”

Ian followed behind her, yanking her back with one hand.

Maja was pinned against a deserted pillar by him.

Ian knew what was going through her mind as he cradled her face in his hands.

She didn't look at him, her chest heaving as she struggled to digest the shocking truth.

Ian had no idea what to say. He gently brushed her nose with his, and not sensing any resistance, he

slowly moved down to kiss her lips.

He surely understood why Eric chose to appear in such a scenario. While it was a blow to Maja, it also

let everyone from the rich families know that he was Maja's first love. This made Ian's position in the

whole situation incredibly awkward.

However, Ian himself didn't give a hoot. He kissed her lips, his hand around her waist gradually

tightening.

After ten minutes of passionate kissing, he finally laid his forehead against her shoulder. His back was

slightly hunched, and he was breathing rapidly, clearly trying to suppress his emotions.

“Maja.”

He tilted his head, wishing he could bite her pale neck in a heartbeat.

He swept her up in his arms, and went straight to his car.

Maja seemed out of sorts. She kept thinking about the recent events and finally figured out the

perplexing situation.

Grandpa Holden agreed to cooperate with Patric because he had known all along that Patric was his

biological grandson. Perhaps Patric said too much in front of Grandpa, leading him to treat Ian with

such harshness.

After spoiling Ian for so many years, Holden had personally pushed the woman Eric loved into Ian's

arms. Hence, when Holden was on his deathbed, he regretted his actions.

Maja felt uncomfortable. She knew that Grandpa Holden had always been good to her, but she was

infuriated and saddened by the fact that she was being pushed around like a piece of property.

Ian held her tightly in his arms.

“Ian, are you on good terms with him?”

“It could have been, but it's impossible now.”

Eric's intentions for coming back were definitely not simple.

Maja fell silent, sensing that the car was heading towards Greenfield Gardens.

She wanted to get out of the car and return to Rosewood Manor to calm down.

But Ian's hand was tightly wrapped around her waist, as if he was afraid she would leave him behind.

Her heart was aching as he took her into Greenfield Gardens.

As soon as the door to the master bedroom was closed, he no longer hid his jealousy.

“Did you get angry with me over that damn ring because it was from him? Why did you run tonight? Did

you become unstable after seeing him? Why aren't you speaking? Was I just a pawn in your game,

always playing the underdog? Maja, don't tell me you still like him!”

After a ten-second silence, his tone became uncertain.

“Are you planning to leave with him now that he's back?”

Maja's mind was a mess, so much so that she could hardly make out what he was saying. Ian stormed

off to take a shower in frustration.

After his shower, he thought Maja would have left by now, and his chest felt heavy.

But when he opened the door, he saw her standing at the doorway, in the same position as before.

Ian wasn't feeling well. He had broken a sweat at the party and now he was lying in bed, clearly upset.

Maja also went into his bathroom, where she still had her nightgown.

After her shower and getting dressed, she came out to see the room in complete darkness, someonenovelbin

had turned off the lights.

She just moved a step when her arm was grabbed.

She was still damp from the shower, and Ian was doing his best to appease her with his kiss.

“Don't.”

Her breathing was uneven, and she unconsciously closed her legs, only for him to part them again.

“Uh.”

As the pleasure built up and was about to reach its peak, he got up and started kissing her neck gently.
