Chapter 1137

After a while, he finally asked, "Aren't you pregnant?"

Maja genuinely had no clue what was going on in this man's mind. How did he come to the conclusion

that she was pregnant, leading to a spectacle at the dinner table?

"Why would you tell the doctor that no matter how painful it is, you want to keep the baby if you aren't

pregnant?"

That was something that had happened over two weeks ago. Maja had nearly forgotten about the

pregnant woman she had encountered at the hospital, let alone that Ian was outside the door at that

time.

"Ian, when did I ever say that to a doctor?"

"You said it at the hospital's gynaecology department."novelbin

Maja finally remembered, then gave him a weird look.

How did he know what she said to the doctor, and only heard half of it?

"Have you been stalking me?"

Ian took a step back, "I wasn't stalking you. I just happened to pass by."

A grown man just happening to pass by the OB-GYN department.

He couldn't even come up with a decent excuse for his lie.

Maja lowered her eyelashes, very irritated by Ian's behavior.

Whenever he hurt her, he would find a way to make her feel sorry for him.

"I'm not pregnant, so get rid of whatever you've been imagining."

She tried to open the door to leave, but she heard Judith's voice outside.

It was nothing but accusations and curses.

Maja paused and then advised, "We've been divorced. Even if you don't like me, there's no need to

deliberately bring Judith here to embarrass me. You know she's got plenty of tricks up her sleeve,

right?"

Ian had nothing to say for a moment. Seeing that Maja was about to open the door, he quickly stepped

forward and held her from behind.

Maja stiffened, hearing his hoarse voice say, "I haven't been sleeping well lately."

Just like before, he nuzzled his head into her neck, as if they were still a close couple.

Maja's rationality wavered briefly because of this move.

Ian always did this. After hurting her, he would appear weak and vulnerable, trying to soften her heart.

He held her tighter, as if he could hold onto her forever this way.

But Maja was the most rational woman he had ever met, and she pushed him away.

"Your girlfriend is outside, Mr. Raymond. We should go out."

Then she opened the restroom door.

Judith was waiting outside. Seeing Ian was indeed inside, she almost went mad with rage.

But she didn't dare to lash out at Ian, so she pointed her finger at Maja's face.

"Maja, how low can you get? You two broke up. Why are you dragging him here? Do you want

everyone to know that you're seducing my boyfriend behind my back?"

Maja didn't look at her. She simply walked past her, back to the private room they'd been in.

She faintly heard Judith timidly asking Ian if he was unwell and why he looked so upset.

Maja found it amusing. That was just like Ian. Whenever he was unhappy, everyone else had to be

unhappy too.

His emotions were too self-centered and everyone had to accommodate him.

Like how he had come with Judith, but he didn't show her any kindness.

He was used to being superior, so he probably wouldn't stoop to accommodate someone else, even if it

was someone he liked.

He said he liked Maja, but when he was angry, he would blurt out a stream of hurtful words.

He thought an apology would make everything fine, and they could go back to how things were.

But words were like a knife, leaving a scar wherever they cut.

When Maja returned to the private room, Director Drew was still there. Seeing her, he let out a sigh of

relief.

"Ms. Pennyfeather, are you alright?"

When all three of them disappeared, even if he was blind, he would know there was some drama

between them.

Maja smiled at him.

"I'm fine, Director Drew. I really like the script for this project. It should be the first sci-fi movie in the

country. I have faith in you, and I hope the movie can be a bit longer, not just 120 minutes."

"Ms. Pennyfeather, that's what I wanted to discuss with you, too. The final cut should be around 140

minutes."

"Sounds good."

Just as they finished their discussion, Ian and Judith walked in.

Ian sat across from her again.

Maja had lost her appetite after Ian's outburst, not wanting to eat anything. She just continued

discussing the remaining matters with Director Drew.

But the two crabs marinated in wine sitting in front of Director Drew were taken by Ian and pushed in

front of her conspicuously.

She paused, looked at him, then at Director Drew, who was also taken aback.

This was a business meeting. Who cared about how much they ate? And would Ian have never eaten

marinated crabs?

But now he got up to take the marinated crabs and put them in front of Maja.

Without looking up, Maja knew the kind of look Judith was giving her.

She looked calm on the outside, but inside she was speechless at Ian's behaviour.
