Chapter 1094

Fitch had had enough. If Maja were here, she would definitely earn a bullet from him.

"Let's call it a night, I'm out. Let Ian rest here for a bit, and I bet he hasn't slept in days."

Tyler also stood up, but Phelps decided to stay, pointing to the couch next to him.

"I'll stay, worried he might get a stomachache tonight."

Tyler and Fitch nodded in agreement and left together.

At the roadside, Fitch lit a cigarette, prompting Tyler to ask,

"What's that got to do with Ian's brother? Why would he spout such nonsense?"

Fitch took a drag from his cigarette, answering indifferently, "Ask him yourself when he's sober."

Tyler raised an eyebrow, "Are your lips sealed, or what?"

Fitch, in no mood to deal with him, simply got in his car and drove away.

Tyler stood still for a moment, then sighed.

His phone started ringing. Seeing the caller ID, he felt a wave of irritation. When would that woman

ever give it a rest?

At two in the morning, Zoey received a call just as she finished some overtime work.

Her body stiffened. It was the special ringtone she had set up for him. Whenever it rang, it meant she

had to go to that place.

She hurriedly packed up her stuff, organized the documents she needed for the next day, and drove

over.

The roads were mostly empty at this late hour.

In less than twenty minutes, she was standing at the gates of a villa.

Before, they would meet at a hotel, which was more convenient.

But recently, he had chosen that villa as their rendezvous spot.

The villa was small but elegant, hardly the place you'd expect a man of his stature to live. It felt more

like a golden cage for a kept woman.

That's what she thought the first time she stepped foot in there.

But she quickly laughed at her own thoughts. A kept woman? In his eyes, she was nothing more than a

tool.

Taking a deep breath to steady herself, she pushed open the door.

He was already waiting inside, seemingly in a bad mood tonight.

To be precise, whenever he sought her out, he seemed to be in a bad mood.

She set down her briefcase and went to take a shower.

When she came out, she felt awkward standing in front of the coffee table.

She had no idea how he wanted her this time, standing there stiffly like a puppet, waiting for his

command.

He grabbed her and threw her onto the couch without hesitation.novelbin

She couldn't move, didn't dare to voice her needs, and just bore it.

She had figured out the pattern with him: the more nervous she was, the more painful it would be. So

she had to relax and not resist what was happening.

It seemed to work. At least she no longer felt nauseous at the start. Now, all she wanted was for it to be

over quickly.

But he was persistent. Even when he wasn't in the mood, he could still torment her for an hour.

Zoey paled, starting to think about the documents she had to deal with the next day.

But then his force increased as if he was trying to break her.

"Daydreaming?"

He sounded displeased. He could be indifferent to their affair, but she had to take it seriously.

"No."

Zoey was a little scared of him.

Just as she finished speaking, her phone rang. It was already four in the morning, who could be calling

at this hour?

When she saw the long-unseen contact name, she was surprised.

She had blocked Murray before, but once she was drunk, she unblocked him and then forgot all about

it.

Seeing the flashing words "husband", she felt a great sense of irony.

He must have seen it, too, because he scoffed.

"Husband? I didn't know you were married."

He really didn't know about her marital status, only where she worked.

Zoey quickly picked up her phone and hung up. "It's just an ex-boyfriend, we broke up."

He didn't seem interested, responding nonchalantly, "Hmm."

Zoey didn't say anything; just tightened her grip due to the pain.

But then her phone rang again. This time, he picked it up and answered. Murray's voice came through

the speaker.

"Zoey, I'm having second thoughts. Honestly, being with you would have been wonderful. You're so

understanding. Whenever I got drunk, you would always make me a bowl of chicken soup and take

care of me till dawn. Evelyn Farley wouldn't do any of these things. She even expects me to take care

of her. Zoey, you're the best. I really miss you."
