Chapter 1063

Ian could no longer hold his temper, grabbing Tyler by the collar.

Tyler sounded helpless.

"When you guys weren't here, we all drew lots for the rooms. These were the only two left. Do you

really think I did this on purpose? Besides, you can have Maja bunk with you."

Ian was taken aback, having completely forgotten about that option in his frustration.

Releasing Tyler, he didn't suggest Maja share with him, instead, he moved to share a room with her to

keep a distance from Judith.

Fresh out of the shower, Maja saw Ian busily packing up gear for the next day’s venture into the

mountains.

Their so-called retreat wasn't confined to that villa. The villa was merely their place of amusement and

rest. Come dawn, they would be heading uphill.

The backpacks were filled with essentials Ian had prepared based on his past experiences. That could

be considered as their first date since they got back together.

Maja sprawled out on the bed, flipping onto her side to watch him meticulously check the contents of

both bags, she couldn't resist asking, "You used to go hiking a lot?"

"Once every six months, being close to nature always lifts my spirits. This time, I'll have Rocky

accompany you. He can help keep the bugs away at night."

Maja found it amusing, looking at his serious profile brought warmth to her heart.

After checking the contents of both bags, he placed them on the nearby sofa and instructed,

"Maja, you carry the lighter one tomorrow, I'll take the heavier one."

Maja nodded in agreement.

Noticing her lying on the bed, half of her shoulder exposed, Ian strode over, gently lifting her into his

arms.

Maja instinctively wrapped her legs around his waist.

Hardly a minute into their kiss, Ryan knocked on the door from outside.

"Cuz, everyone's waiting for you to start the meeting. After that, we're all grilling some BBQ. Don't hit

the hay too early."

It was just before eight.

Ian was peeved, feeling uncomfortably aroused.

Maja too, startled by Ryan's interruption, quickly wriggled out of Ian's embrace, landing on the floor and

scrambling to get dressed.

Ryan waited outside for a good ten minutes before an irked Ian finally opened the door.

Looking puzzled, he asked, "Where’s Penny? She needs to attend the meeting too. There are a lot of

things she needs to be aware of."

Ian and Fitch had charted that hiking route together. Starting from there, it would take two days to reach

the opposite mountain top, where a helicopter would be waiting for them to pick them up. The scenery

along the way was at its most beautiful during that season, attracting many young men from their social

circle each year.

That year, they just happened to start earlier.

Fitch couldn't make it that time, so Ian was leading the meeting.

On arriving at the living room, he found over twenty people waiting for him.

He spread the map in the center, explaining the terrain of each area and emphasizing the two supply

and medical aid points. Those were secret locations set up to aid anyone injured on the way.novelbin

Judith sat at the front, listening to him saying, "Ms. Sanders, maybe you should sit this one out. If

anything happens to you, it'll be hard to explain your situation to the Sanders family."

People with heart conditions had no business meddling in such affairs.

Judith smiled, replying, "Ian, you don't need to worry about me. I have Wind, and my brother will be

joining us tonight. Everyone should be able to meet him before we set off tomorrow."

What was clearly a sarcastic remark from Ian was twisted into a caring gesture by Judith.

Just as the crowd was about to stir, Maja slowly descended the staircase.

Raising an eyebrow, Judith chuckled, "Ms. Pennyfeather, not feeling well? The meeting is almost over,

and you just arrived here."

There was a collective scoff from the crowd. Maja was truly a princess, showing up later than anyone

else despite their higher status.

Maja may not have been worn out by Ian, but he had thoroughly teased her before leaving, leaving her

flushed and breathless. Had she come out looking like that, everyone would have easily understood

what they were up to in there.

So, she spent a while washing her face with cold water, waiting for her emotions to settle before

coming down.

Ian was about to pack up the map on the table when he heard Judith's words; he responded

nonchalantly, "I'll go over it with her before we go to bed."
