Chapter 1050

The moment those words were spoken, a collective gasp resonated across the room.

Everyone had assumed that he was with Judith, that they were on the cusp of exchanging wedding

vows. But what was happening now?

Fitch shifted his gaze onto Maja, his tone nonchalant.

"Haven't you introduced her before?"

"Oh!"

The crowd gasped louder. So, Fitch had known all along that Maja was Ian’s girlfriend?

The woman Ian had talked about on Facebook was Maja.

Everyone's visage became a trifle more subtle. If Ian was infatuated with Maja, then what was the deal

with Judith?

Ian shot Fitch a smile, then pointed upstairs.

"Maja is a bit upset right now. I'm going to go up and soothe her. I'll be back down later."

Fitch nodded.

Ian pulled Maja into his arms and walked towards the elevator not far away.

Maja felt like a puppet on strings, unable to process anything.

All she knew was that Ian had publicly acknowledged their relationship in front of everyone.

He had given her a status with such dignity and candor.

Love didn't always appear when she was on top of the world.

But it definitely came when she was at her lowest.

She mulled over this phrase as he led her into the elevator under the watchful eyes of the crowd.

Her lashes cast long shadows on her cheeks, and she remained silent.

What she had never said was how much she yearned for her biological parents, especially when she

saw how much Beck adored his little sister. She wondered if she could have had a doting older brother

or a sister yearning for her.

She had pondered this once, but she never thought that the reality of family ties could make her feel so

disoriented.

The moment the elevator doors closed, Ian let her go.

Again, silence filled the space between them.

The elevator stopped at the fourth floor, a private area where guests wouldn't venture.

Ian walked out silently, and Maja had no choice but to follow.

He moved towards the balcony. From here, one could see the Ryan Garden below, and a bottle of wine

was placed on the small table next to the couch.

Had he been drowning his sorrows alone here?

Ian sat down silently. From this angle, Maja could only see his chiseled nose and pale lips, and the rest

was hidden behind the potted plant.

Images began to surface in her mind. Had they not done something naughty on a balcony before?

Only it wasn't the Haskins family's balcony. She wasn't sure if this memory was correct. It just poppednovelbin

up suddenly.

She slowly walked over, her fingertips lightly brushing against the back of his hand.

This was her extending an olive branch.

"Ian."

She called out and squatted down in front of him.

Ian ignored her. The wine glass he had brought down earlier wasn't with him anymore so that he

couldn't drink.

He closed his eyes silently. Soon, he felt a pair of small hands unbuckling his belt.

His brows furrowed, but he didn't feel like opening his eyes to see what she was doing.

A minute later, an intense sensation washed over him. His eyelashes fluttered, and his breathing

became erratic.

When he opened his eyes, his pale lips were now flushed. He took a breath and saw Maja's head in his

view.

His vision seemed to blur, and the view of the distant landscape was hazy. Finally, he couldn't resist

placing his hand on her head.

This was the first time Maja had gone out of her way to please a man.

She didn't know if it was effective.

After a while, her hair was tugged, and he mumbled, "Tuck in your canine."

Maja's teeth were impeccably aligned, save for one hidden canine on the far right, which wasn't visible

when she spoke.

But Ian had kissed her. He would know about it.

He was willing to talk to her. Did that mean he was pacified?

She wasn't sure.

Another ten minutes were passed before she was abruptly hoisted up by him.
