Chapter 1043

Maja slumped on her couch, utterly worn out. With great effort, she managed to drag herself upstairs,

took a quick shower, and collapsed onto her bed, falling asleep instantly.

The next morning, she woke up to find no new messages from Ian.

She went to the office and began yet another meeting.

Everyone in the senior management team was engrossed in what Maja was saying. It took her two

hours to finally lower her eyes and finish her briefing.

"So, that's the gist of our recent work. None of us can afford to slack off. Our PR department needs to

constantly monitor online discussions. I'm worried about what the remaining folks at Simstar

Entertainment might pull."

"Mr. Pennyfeather, Wilma's new show has been released, and it's doing well. We're getting a ton of

endorsement offers. She's on the brink of becoming an A-list celebrity. Once the show finishes its run,

she'll probably reach that level."

Maja, who had not slept well the night before, let out a yawn.

She turned her gaze to Elvis.

"Elvis, I'm entrusting you with Wilma's future career path. You don't have to guide her personally, but at

least lay out a roadmap for her. After all, you've been there for her since the beginning."

Elvis nodded.

Maja continued to share a few more points before finally, and with great fatigue, declared the meeting

adjourned.novelbin

Back in her office, she looked out at the sunlight and asked Zoey, "Did the dress I ordered for delivery

arrive?"

"Yes, I had it sent to Greenfield Gardens," Zoey replied.

"Zoey, clear my schedule for this afternoon. I'm going to a party tonight."

"Sure, Mr. Pennyfeather."

As Zoey nodded, Maja noticed the lingering bruises on her body. They were old from that day. They

were fading, but they were still visible, purple, and caused by pressure.

Her eyebrows furrowed.

"If you have any problems you can't handle, it's best to discuss them with me."

Zoey stiffened and quickly changed the subject.

"Do you want me to come with you, Mr. Pennyfeather? I can act as your driver."

Maja thought for a moment and then nodded.

"There will definitely be many bigwigs from the film industry at the party tonight. It would be good for

you to meet them, as we'll all be doing business together."

Just as they were about to leave, Elvis rushed out of the meeting room.

"Maja, what's wrong?" she asked hurriedly.

"Mr. Pennyfeather, Wilma was tackled by a hater at the new show's launch event. She fell off the stage

and hit her head. She's in the hospital now."

Maja was shocked. Forgetting about the party, the three of them immediately headed to the hospital.

Because Wilma was almost an A-list celebrity, and her accident happened during a live broadcast, the

news of her injury was trending online. Her fans were all worried about her condition.

Maja, Zoey, and Elvis were all pacing in the hospital corridor, anxious and worried.

The hospital was surrounded by fans. The news of Wilma's arrival had leaked, and they found it difficult

to leave.

Maja first called the PR department, asking them to pay attention to online discussions so that they

wouldn't be misled by others. Then she had Wilma's agent post on Twitter, asking the fans outside the

hospital to go home to avoid causing chaos.

However, Wilma's fall was severe. She had been tackled off the stage, and her head was bleeding.

Ten minutes later, a rumor started that Wilma had passed away.

Her fans couldn't bear the news and started lashing out at Star Movie Group online.

[Are the bodyguards hired by the company foolish? They can't even protect one person under their

watch!]

[The event was too chaotic, giving the hater an opportunity!]

[Star Movie Group can't protect their own artists! It's bad luck to sign with this company!]

Some of the more radical fans had even started smashing the company's windows.

In no time, the employees still working in the office called in a panic.

"Mr. Pennyfeather, we're surrounded. We probably can't leave tonight. The fans are really worked up.

We called the police, but it was no use. The large glass window in the first-floor lobby has been

smashed."

The glass window, which was over ten meters high and spanned the entire floor, was now broken. If

someone got hurt, the company would be embroiled in a new wave of negative publicity.
