Chapter 1008

When Funfly received the urgency from Judith, sweat was trickling down her forehead.

The online public opinion was still raging. She had already released Alma, but Alma hadn't made her

move last night.

Her hands tightly gripped the steering wheel. After some inquiries, she found out that Ian had left the

country.

Taking a deep breath, she immediately relayed this information to Alma. Ian wasn't around, and this

was the best opportunity to deal with Maja.

Alma got excited immediately, but Funfly reminded her.

"You only have one shot; don't lose your head before you've made a move. Maja is not that easy to

handle."

"That bitch only has Ian on her side!"

Alma's eyes were filled with intense resentment, wishing she could drive over and run over Maja right

now.

"Alma, you have to make her suffer mentally. It's more painful than any physical harm."

Funfly didn't want to speak more with this simple-minded fool, and she had already given her all the

necessary reminders.

As she was about to hang up, she couldn't help but add one more thing.

"This bitch is fond of Ian. If you can sever their relationship, that would be her worst nightmare."

Alma's eyes sparkled, and she began thinking about how she could cut off the possibility of Maja and

Ian ever getting back together.

A smirk formed at the corner of her mouth, and she quickly thought of a plan.

When Maja sat down in the office, her mood was fairly good.

Seeing the increasing signs on her body, Zoey knew she had spent the night with Ian again.

As an assistant, she didn't comment, and she just did her job diligently.

"Mr. Pennyfeather, the director who couldn't meet us last time has made another appointment."

Only then, Maja remembered she had made an appointment with a director, which was interrupted by

Omar.

She had been preoccupied with Ian and had totally forgotten about it.

"What time has he scheduled?"

"Nine in the evening. I heard the director is a bit eccentric, but he was polite when he called to

reschedule. If everything goes as planned, we should be able to sign him."

Maja sighed in relief and decided to stay in the office until eight before heading out with Zoey.

They went to the same hotel suite as last time.

When she entered the room, the director was already standing.

"Mr. Pennyfeather."

"Director Arnold, I apologize for the inconvenience last time. I had an emergency and spent the past

few days recuperating."

Director Arnold, who had been warned by Ian, didn't dare to make a fuss.

"Mr. Pennyfeather, there's no need to be formal. Let's sit down and talk."

The waiter had already brought in the food.

Maja was talking to Director Arnold about the company's future projects, investment films, plans, and

so on, all while eating.novelbin

They chatted and ate, and the process was quite enjoyable.

After Director Arnold signed the contract, they shook hands.

"Mr. Pennyfeather, it was a pleasure talking to you. I can tell that you truly want to run your company

well and care for your artists. I'm delighted to join such a company."

Maja smiled, "It's my honor."

As soon as she said this, she furrowed her eyebrows, feeling a little hot all over.

Realizing that the wine might have been spiked, a sharp look flashed in her eyes.

She had been careless. As a woman, she should be extremely cautious about what she put in her

mouth when socializing outside. She just didn't expect to fall into the trap tonight.

"Director Arnold, welcome to the company. Let's end our conversation here for tonight, and I have a

meeting to attend later."

"Alright, alright."

Holding the contract, Director Arnold didn't notice Maja's strange behavior until they reached the hotel's

main entrance.

Maja waited until he left, then slowly leaned against a tree, feeling as if she was about to explode from

the heat.

Just as she was about to call Zoey over, she heard footsteps behind her.

Instinctively, she started to run towards the security guard at the hotel entrance.

However, the footsteps behind her quickened, and someone grabbed her and dragged her towards a

corner.

"Let go!"

"It's me."

Upon hearing the man's voice, she froze and then struggled even harder.

"Patric?"

Before she could finish speaking, she heard another set of footsteps.

"Maja's over here, don't let her escape!"

It was a different group, also heading towards her.

They were probably the ones who had spiked her drink.

She hurriedly tried to hide, but the man pulled her into a nearby room.

"Patric, let go."

Them holding hands like this had crossed a line. She was about to confront Ian, and she couldn't afford

any trouble at this critical moment!
