Chapter 990

lan tossed and turned all night.

At times, he dreamed about himself and Maja in Crystalbrook Valley, hiding in a small house amidst asandstorm. Outside was a vast expanse of yellow sand, but inside, they were in a peaceful world oftheir own.

Then, there were dreams about Solstice Spire, where hostages were held by criminals. He and Majawould work together to overcome the crisis.

And then there were those countless dreams of passion, where he would kiss every inch of Maja’sbody, not leaving any part untouched.

Whenever he had these dreams, lan would always wake up quickly. The happiness of the dream andthe harshness of reality would create a stark contrast.

He would close his eyes and wish to return to the dream, but then he would not be able to fall asleepagain.

So he would wake up early and take a cold shower, and by four in the morning, he would drive aroundRosewood Manor.

Before dawn, his car would be parked not far from Rosewood Manor. His eyes would be glued to thedistant building.

Then he would light up a cigarette, holding it between two fingers and placing it on his lips. The brightred embers would stand out in the darkness.

The smoke would gently escape from his mouth. He would stare at it until his eyes began to sting.

It took him a while before he put out the cigarette. He didn’t know how many he had smoked.

He saw Maja’s car coming out of the Manor, but it didn’t pass by him. Instead, it took another route.

lan’s hands gripped the steering wheel, knowing she was off to work.

It was now six–thirty in the morning. He had been waiting here for two and a half hours, feeling the dewforming on his clothes.

Maja was sitting in her car, constantly analyzing public opinion on the internet.

She glanced at the villa in the distance as she turned a corner, thinking that the car parked not far fromthe villa looked like lan’s, but she shrugged off the thought.

She turned her attention back to her work.

When she arrived at the office, she had already received the latest news.

Funfly was no longer the president of Simstar Entertainment, and she planned to cash in the sharesshe held.novelbin

Simstar Entertainment must have thought that Funfly’s resignation would appease the public, but Majadidn’t want to let things go so easily.

“Zoey, release another video of the female celebrities being harassed by the executives,” she said. “Iwant to see how many executives Simstar Entertainment was willing to sacrifice.”

Zoey nodded. They had originally planned to release these videos later.

At seven in the morning.

Videos of Simstar Entertainment’s male executives harassing female celebrities had been released. The videos were very clear and caught everyone at Simstar Entertainment off guard.

Simstar Entertainment had held a meeting overnight, thinking that Funfly’s resignation would solveeverything. After her resignation, Funfly could move behind the scenes and avoid public appearances. But now, four or five executives were implicated. What should they do about these

executives?

This was not as simple as resigning. This meant that Simstar Entertainment, from its president to itsexecutives, was completely corrupt. So, which artist signed to the company was still clean?

Initially, only three artists had stepped forward to terminate their contracts with Simstar Entertainment. But when these videos were released, the number of artists wanting to terminate their contractsincreased to more than twenty. The top twenty hot search topics were all about the artists wanting toterminate their contracts.

On the other hand, Funfly was still trying to show her loyalty to Judith. She said that although she wasno longer the president, she still held real shares and had several cronies among the executives. Shecould still influence Simstar Entertainment’s decisions in the future.

But now, with the news about the executives, almost all of her cronies were wiped out.

If Simstar Entertainment still wanted to continue operations and salvage its reputation, it had to make ahuge sacrifice this time. All the executives involved had to be fired.

But in that case, Funfly would no longer have a chance to make a comeback.

Moreover, she had to cash in her shares as soon as possible. Otherwise, once all her cronies leftSimstar Entertainment; those who were against her would try to make her shares worthless.

Funfly’s face turned pale. Although she had avoided personal imprisonment, what about her cronies?

She made four or five phone calls for help, but they hung up as soon as they heard her voice.

Everyone knew that it would be very difficult for Simstar Entertainment to recover. Helping her at thistime would yield nothing. Having no other choice, Funfly turned to Judith again.
