“If my brother hadn’t passed away, you wouldn’t be fussing over me like this. Mom, I’m not my brother’sstand–in. I won’t let you push me around, and I won’t listen to you.” Selena’s face turned pale instantly,her fists clenched. Her lips trembled and her eyes reddened before she managed to speak.

Selena nearly fainted, her breath quivered and she couldn’t utter a complete sentence.”
lan didn’t want to upset her any further, so he softened his tone. “You should go inside. I’m leaving.”
With that, he strode away from the old house.
By the time he got back to the car, Jeff was already waiting for him. Seeing lan’s gloomy face in therearview mirror, he asked.: “Are we going back to the hotel now?”
lan had been staying in a hotel recently. He lifted his hand to rub his forehead, “Bring some gifts andvisit Neil in the hospital tomorrow.
“Is this Holden’s request?”

Jeff didn’t say anything else and was about to drive to the hotel when he heard lan say, “Let’s go toRosewood Manor.”
