Chapter 866

lan stood there for a while, waiting until the car completely disappeared before he headed back.

Jeff had a knack for showing up at the right time.

“Boss, this is Dennis‘ recent move. He’s bought the shares from Maureen. Now, he holds 30% of theshares. The next step is Holden’s 15%. Also, two months ago, Dennis had a meeting with the presidentof the Eco Traverse Group in North America.

lan glanced at the report, and responded nonchalantly.

Jeff wasn’t sure what was on his mind. After putting the report down, he couldn’t help but say, “Ms.Penny’s company is killing it.”

lan seemed to take it in, staring at the report in deep thought.

When Maja got to the company, she was surprised to see Shawn already waiting there.novelbin

By this time, Shawn should’ve already signed the endorsement contract and gone to prepare for the adshoot.

“What’s up?”

“Mr. Pennyfeather, there’s a problem with the product Ford wanted me to endorse. Mr. Dempsey says Ican’t do it anymore. They’ve picked someone else from Simstar Entertainment.”

The problem was that the Star Movie group had already announced that Shawn would be endorsingFord’s perfume but didn’t expect Ford to back out at the last minute.

Maja frowned and dialed Bruce’s number but Bruce didn’t pick up.

She had just talked to Bruce that morning. Everything was fine then, and only at 13:49, a few minutesbefore the contract signing, did Ford back out.

Everyone was caught off guard.

Now, there’s a new round of controversy online. People were saying Shawn was delusional and thatthe Star Movie group was stirring up trouble on purpose.

Maja was not pleased. She dialed Bruce again but got no answer. It seemed like she was beingblocked.

Bruce, as an elder, really shouldn’t be so ruthless.

She then called Herbert to ask about Bruce, only to have Herbert curse up a storm on the other end.

Maja: “Bruce isn’t even taking my calls anymore. It must have something to do with business. It’s justan endorsement deal. If it didn’t really affect his company, he wouldn’t go this far.”

Herbert quickly tried to reassure her, “Penny, don’t worry. I’ll go ask at Ford’s headquarters.”

Ford’s headquarters was in North America, and Herbert was there at the moment.

Maja didn’t want to bother Herbert. After all, he was getting on in years

“Herbert, I’ll handle it. Don’t worry.”

After hanging up, Maja sat down in her office chair. She noticed that Shawn seemed off and realized hewas probably dealing with this kind of trickery for the first time.

What Bruce did was really low.

It would’ve been fine even if he breached the contract before Star Movie group made the official Twitterannouncement. But now, just ten minutes after the Star Movie group announced Shawn as Ford’sglobal spokesperson, Ford announced a new spokesperson from Simstar Entertainment.

This was a public humiliation of the Star Movie group.

There were already tens of thousands of comments under Star Movie group’s Twitter post. Thecompany was suddenly in the eye of a media storm.

And Alma, seeing all these messages, finally felt a sense of satisfaction.

She didn’t expect a casual comment from Ms. Sanders could embarrass the entire Star Movie group.

She sneered, shivering at the thought of her own embarrassment the night before.

She would probably never have the face to play piano in public again. The humiliation was etched deepinto her bones.

She dialed Beck’s number, her tone polite.

“Mr. Beck, Ms. Sanders hopes you can get involved too. Keep stirring up trouble for Star Movie group, embarrass them, ruin their reputation in the industry.”

Obviously, Bruce had set them up, and Maja fell for it.

Now, the Star Movie group was being trashed online, and Maja, as the CEO, couldn’t escape theblame.

The internet was full of accusations.

(What does the Star Movie group think they are? Ford’s first global spokesperson wouldn’t be someonefrom a small company. And even though Shawn’s popular, he doesn’t have the experience.]

[What was Maja thinking, making the announcement so early? She’s just making Shawn take theblame. Is she forcing Shawn? Did she do this & purpose because Shawn wasn’t willing?]

[Her leadership skills are terrible, and she’s offended a big company. How embarrassing.]

A lot of the comments were from Simstar Entertainment’s hired trolls, but once there were enoughcomments, people started to think there might be something wrong with Maja.

Maja wasn’t following the online discussion, but she received a text message.

[I warned you not to cross me. Leave lan within three days, or my brother will buy your company.]
