Chapter 822

Maja was so wrapped up in Coco’s situation that she totally spaced out on lan’s dog hair allergy.

Her eyes were glued on Coco like she was hooked on a sick TV series.

All she had to do was glance at lan, and she would have known something was off.

But nope, her eyes didn’t wander his way.novelbin

lan’s initial hope turned into a boiling rage.

She was oblivious, and he couldn’t spell it out for her.

When they reached the pet hospital, he felt like he was about to pass out, but he still grabbed Cocoand got out of the car like a champ.

The vet took Coco for emergency care.

A staff member noticed lan. His breath was all over the place, and the rash on his neck was prettyobvious.

‘Sir, are you allergic to animal hair?”

lan felt like he was drunk dancing in a nightclub. Everything was a blur.

Only then did Maja remember his dog hair allergy!

She quickly turned to Jeff at the door.

*Jeff, take him to the hospital. His allergy to dog hair is getting worse. If we delay any longer, thingscould get ugly.

Jeff wanted to ask, “What about you? Aren’t you coming?”

But judging by Maja’s attitude, she had no plans of going.

He took another look at lan.

lan sobered up at Maja’s words, standing there, felt the rash on his body burning up like he was on fire.

He didn’t feel anger. More like he was numb to her attitude.

“Maja, you just wait.”

He dropped the words coldly and turned around, only to almost trip over because of the dizziness.

Jeff quickly reached out to steady him but got shoved off.

He took a deep breath, and his heart was beating out of his chest when she started to speak, hopingshe would say something that showed she cared for him.

But after hearing her words, his heart sank like a ship lost at sea and retreated into a corner.

He managed to get to the car, ensuring Maja couldn’t see him before he collapsed.

“Boss!”

Jeff got a fright but quickly helped lan into the car.

Maja didn’t follow. She found a spot in the pet hospital and kept asking the staff.

‘Can Coco be saved? Was she poisoned?”

She was so worried that her lips were trembling.

“Our vet is currently examining your dog, Ms. Pennyfeather. There’s no need to panic.”

How could Maja not panic? Her hands were clenched tightly together, and she waited for three hours. Her mind was a blank canvas.

Meanwhile, lan was wheeled into the ER, and his rash was spreading like wildfire.

Jeff was pacing in the corridor, not daring to disturb anyone.

Two hours later, the ER door finally swung open.

lan was moved into a VIP room.

Allergies came fast and went fast, but in severe cases, they can cause breathing problems.

lan looked ghostly pale. Realizing Maja wasn’t there, he felt like he was in a freezing abyss, from hisheart to his toes.

*Jeff, I’m not staying.”

He got out of bed, grabbing his suit jacket.

“But the doctor said.”

Before Jeff could finish, lan was already stumbling toward the door.

Jeff had no choice but to help him.

By the time they got back to Greenfield Gardens, it was three in the morning.

Ian was in bed, his body burning like a furnace.

Maja’s scent lingered in his nose. He got up and tossed the pillow next to him onto the floor in anger.

Ten minutes later, he slowly got out of bed, picked up the pillow, dusted it off, and put it back on thebed.

He couldn’t sleep. He checked social media on his phone, wondering if Maja was home.

Turned out, Maja had posted an update: Thanks for everyone’s help. My pet dog, Coco is safe andsound.

The picture showed Coco sitting in the car, looking all recovered.

A dog’s life was more important to her than her ex–husband’s life.

Throughout the whole ordeal, she didn’t show a hint of concern for him, and she was willing to be thiscold–hearted.

What a joke!
