Chapter 758

Maja drove Beck’s car back to his villa before heading back to Rosewood Manor herself.

Just before hitting the hay, Carol called her up.

“What’s the buzz about Beck and lan? The high society is all aflutter, they’re all gabbing about how theyhad a scrap over you.”

Carol’s tone was dripping with gossip.

“Maja, are you really going steady with lan?”

“Nope.”

Hearing the exhaustion in her voice, Carol quickly wrapped up the topic.

“It’s been a while since we’ve had a meal together, how about we catch up tomorrow?”

“Carol, I’ve got stuff going on tomorrow.”

“Alright then, go ahead.”

When Maja said she had stuff going on what she really meant was going to the Raymond family’s oldpad to look for Holden, she was genuinely worried that she’d get snatched away by Selena again.

As for lan, the moment he got into his car, his mood turned sour.

Jeff didn’t dare disturb him and didn’t dare to ask about anything.

But the hullabaloo of tonight’s event was huge, and word had already reached Holden.

So, halfway through the car ride, Holden called lan up and asked him to swing by.

Not long ago, lan had been scolded by Holden, and he was starting to wonder if he was going to getanother earful because of Penny.

Raymond Mansion was dead quiet.

When the butler opened the door and saw him, he immediately stepped aside to clear the way.

lan savy Holden sitting on the sofa, no coffee as it was quite late, only a glass of water in front of him.

The atmosphere wasn’t as tense as he imagined it to be, but surprisingly chilled.

“Grandpa.”

He called out and slowly sat down.

Holden’s hands tightly gripped his cane, nodded slightly, “Tonight you and Beck had a dust–up over agirl?”

That was the news he heard, at first, he was a bit incredulous, lan and Beck! Neither of them seemedlike hotheads.

But right now, lan’s neck was wrapped in bandages, and he looked colder than usual which gave awaythe truth.

Holden grabbed his cane.

“I want you to bring that girl over to me right now. Ian, if I have to go myself, I can’t promise she’ll becoming back in one piece.”

lan immediately dropped to his knees in front of him.

“Grandpa, this has nothing to do with her.”

The way he was protecting the girl surprised Holden even more.

He knew well enough that his grandson had no clue about liking someone, maybe his understanding ofit was still immature, the more he wanted to grab someone’s attention, the more he would spoutnonsense and do annoying things.

If their gaze lingered on him, even if it was hatred, it was better than being ignored.novelbin

But now, he was clearly siding with that girl.

Holden was suddenly filled with a mixture of fury and amusement. He had originally hoped that Majacould be his granddaughter–in–law, so he let her stay in the Raymond family for three years, but shedidn’t end up developing feelings for lan. Now his grandson was falling for a stranger.

His anger made him swing his cane.

lan didn’t dodge, nor did he beg for mercy, taking the brunt of the cane hit.

“I was hoping you’d end up with Maja, but you were always picking holes in her. Now you’re fightingwith Bèck over some random girl, are you trying to give me a heart attack!”

tan was always obedient in front of his grandpa, so he bowed his head.

“If you’re angry, feel free to whack me a few more times, but please don’t trouble her. I’ll slowly sort outthe stuff between us.”

As he said this, he clenched his teeth.

Seeing this, Holden thought, could it be that the girl didn’t feel the same way about him?

Served him right!

This was karma!

Holden really didn’t want to see this jerk anymore, he was always a reasonable man, and wouldn’t goafter a girl like others might.

A woman who could make two men like this fight over her, no matter how she did that, it was atestament to her charm and her beauty.

Holden wouldn’t think she was a bad girl, if anyone was to blame, it was his dim–witted grandson whostarted the fight.

He had originally wanted to test lan’s attitude tonight, after all, he was still hoping Maja would comeback.

But now that hope was dashed, seeing his grandson so furious, he just hoped that girl would give him ataste of his own medicine. Let him experience the pain of love for once!
