Chapter 520

Maja was already out, with Nathan’s car parked nearby. She’d just sent a message for someone tocome pick her up.

She was still paying Nathan’s salary; she might as well use him while he was still around before he leftfor Crystalbrook Valley.

Maja turned a corner, intending to head for Nathan’s car.

But lan grabbed her uninjured wrist.

They hadn’t completely left the garden yet, and there were a few scattered people around. Everyone’seyes turned to lan when they saw him.

Maja looked down at his hand, frowning.

“Mr. Raymond, what’s up?”

lan let go of her wrist, saying, “I’ve been texting you these past few days, but you haven’t replied.”

“Because it wasn’t about Greenfield Gardens, I didn’t think it was necessary to reply.”

“I just blocked a drink for you; how come you’re not grateful?”

“Mr. Raymond, you’re my client. It’s not right to have my client block drinks for me.”

The word “client” clearly defined their relationship.

lan felt like he’d been stabbed in the heart, but this was a public place, so he didn’t lose his temper; hejust stared at her gloomily. “How did your hand get injured?”

“Do you have anything else?” She was clearly getting a bit impatient and didn’t want to discuss this withhim. For the first time, lan deeply felt how unwelcome he was.

.

He looked down at her, her face still cold and unchanging.

He moved closer to her, looking carefully into her eyes.

The distance between them suddenly closed, and he asked, “Penny, you really don’t know how to begrateful.”

Maja suddenly laughed, taking the glass of wine from the waiter, her lips curving upward.

“Mr. Raymond, have you never been rejected by a woman? If you’re saying I’m ungrateful just becauseI don’t want to accept your kindness, then you’re really a petty man.” She looked down at the wine inher glass, her eyelashes drooping.

“I’m married now. I need to keep my distance from you to avoid gossip. I can’t let everyone here knowthat I’ve had a relationship with you, can I?”

lan straightened up, saying coldly, “So, admitting to having a relationship with me is thatembarrassing?”

He thought Maja would say something to lighten the mood since it was getting a bit tense betweenthem. Even though there was no open animosity, the tension was there. “Indeed, so for the remainingthree times, I’d like to offset them with cash.” Maja looked up at him, her gaze deep. “I don’t want to

deal with you anymore. It’s pointless.” Her eyes were so calm, as if everything that had happenedbefore was just a breeze to her.

lan’s pupils contracted like a cold winter frost.

His eyes showed a threat, fierce like a wolf.

Maja wasn’t afraid of him. She straightened up and prepared to leave after saying this.

“Do you know what the consequences will be if you leave now?”

lan’s threat came from behind.

As soon as he finished speaking, Maja turned around and splashed the wine on his face.

The last time she splashed someone, it was Selena Casson. This time, it was lan.

Maja felt very relieved.

lan’s nose was filled with the smell of alcohol, and everyone’s gaze turned to him. The crowd took astep back.

This designer was really bold, daring to splash lan.

Maja put down the glass, her tone flat, “Consequences? I’m not afraid of death.”

lan grabbed her wrist and walked outside.

He’d attended countless parties, but tonight was the first time he was so embarrassed.

When they reached another corner, the flowers here were even more vibrant, and there weren’t manyguests around anymore.

lan pushed Maja against the floral wall, his gaze gloomy.

Maja simply closed her eyes, not wanting to look at him.

Her personality sometimes really pissed people off.

lan lowered his head and bit her lip, forcefully prying her mouth open.

Maja frowned and bit his tongue without hesitation, causing him to wince in pain.

He stopped and looked at Maja, panting.

Maja, with red eyes, fiercely wiped her lips in front of him, her face showing disgust.

This disgust was like a sharp needle, piercing directly into his heart, causing his anger to instantlyspread and his blood to boil.

“Disgusted by me? We’ve done it so many times; isn’t it too late to start being disgusted now?”

“Yes, because we’ve done it a few times, and the experience was worse than hiring a high–end gigolo.Mr. Raymond, there are still three times left. How about this? I’ll give you three million, and we’ll call itquits.”

No one had ever dared insult lan like this.novelbin

He even thought that this woman didn’t want to live.
