Chapter 487

Maja glanced at the message on her phone, then at the pile of paperwork on her desk.

She sent a reply.

“I might be a little late.”

“Alright.”

Seeing his response, Maja put her phone aside and concentrated on the paperwork.

Once she was done, she looked up at the sky outside and realized it was already late. She quicklygrabbed her phone to check the time.

Four hours had passed since she started talking to lan.

She furrowed her brows, wondering if lan would really wait for her that long.

“Mr. Raymond, where are you?”

“The Raymond Corporation.”

The office atmosphere was heavy, and the higher–ups reporting to lan could tell his mood was off.

As they left, they all seemed a bit scared, quickly warning their incoming colleagues, “Mr. Raymond’s ina bad mood; watch out.”

So, those who planned to report to him that evening didn’t dare enter the office..

Penny said she’d be late and had him waiting for four hours.

She really had no sense of time. He never had to wait this long for anyone.

But seeing her message, his anger subsided a bit, and swallowing his emotions, he replied with thelocation.

Then he saw Maja sent another message.

“It’s getting late; how about I come see you tomorrow?”

lan read the message, and his anger flared instantly.

“Come now.”

He typed out these words, then slowly deleted them.

“Whatever you want.”

He sent this instead, then stood up, not even looking at the gift on the desk, and left the office.

When he got back to his hotel, he still felt a burning anger inside.

But lan was the type of person who became more collected the angrier he got, never losing control.

That’s when Tyler Bennitt called, asking if he was back in the country and if he wanted to grab a drink.

Tyler basically only called to go drinking.

lan had just finished his work, so he drove over.

His wrist was adorned with an expensive watch, and his eyes were as deep as the ocean floor. He wascalm and composed, yet he radiated an intimidating chill.

While waiting for the traffic light, he heard a knock on his car window. He frowned, rolled down thewindow, and saw Samuel Brown.

Samuel was dressed in a dark red suit, and he had just thrown a bow tie at him.

Samuel was currently watching lan with excitement.

“Mr. Raymond, what a coincidence.”

lan just glanced at him, then rolled up the window.

As soon as the light turned green, lan floored it.

But then, a car suddenly swerved out from the side; it was Samuel’s car, and it made a turn in front oflan

lan’s face instantly turned cold, and his foot was heavy on the gas pedal.

Samuel was just trying to tease lan; after all, he noticed that lan was in a bad mood tonight and that thetemperature in the car was practically freezing.

lan’s car charged straight towards Samuel; if Samuel didn’t swerve out of the way, he would have beenhit.

“Damn!” Samuel cursed loudly.

lan’s provocation stirred up his competitive spirit, and seeing lan’s car suddenly speed ahead, heimmediately followed.

Both of their feet were heavy on the gas pedal.

It was evening, and there were many large trucks on the road due to new construction projects in thesuburbs.

Where there were many large trucks, it meant danger.

Samuel loved driving; he was driving a sports car tonight, one that he had modified himself and hadgood performance.

Ian’s car was a presidential–level defensive car; its leading performance couldn’t match a professionalsports car. But lan was driving so fast–faster than Samuel ever expected.

Especially when he saw one truck after another driving in front of lan’s car, Samuel’s heart was in histhroat.

Seriously, he was just teasing him, was there really a need for this?novelbin

Samuel was getting angry now; he pressed the gas pedal hard.

But all he could see was the back of Jan’s car.

Until they reached the bar, lan parked his car and got out without hesitation.

A minute later, Samuel’s car was parked behind him.

Clearly, they were going to the same bar tonight.

Samuel got out of the car and walked towards lan, a smile plastered on his face,

“Mr. Raymond, your driving skills are as good as those of a professional racer.

lan glanced at him, leaving only one sentence: “Your skills are too poor.”

Then lan walked into the bar.

Samuel stood by the entrance, a bit lost.

He took a deep breath to calm down.

He definitely wasn’t as crazy as lan, driving a defensive car faster than a sports car.

He also wasn’t as ruthless and cold–hearted as lan.

“You, the guy who doesn’t even recognize your own wife!”

Samuel cursed, then called his man, “Take my car for a modification; it’s crap; it can’t even outspeed aregular car.”

The person on the other end of the phone was completely baffled by his outburst.
