Chapter 485

Actually, Maja didn’t start liking lan; it was just a fleeting pulse of the heart.

When he was on top of her, looking at her with passionate, conquering eyes, she did feel her heartrace,

Women were emotional creatures, especially when it came to sex. They only got the hots for someoneif they liked the guy in front of them.

But men were different; they just needed the right setting to make their move.

Seeing this, Maja chilled out.

When she left the room and came back to the lobby, there was Selena again.

Seeing Selena, Maja stiffened. She had every reason to hold a grudge against her. Selena always hadthis high and mighty attitude, eyeing Maja from head to toe. “You’re recovering well. We used the besttechnology and the best anesthesia,

She was speaking in riddles.

It seemed like Maja should be super grateful to her.

Selena didn’t say it outright because Holden’s people were everywhere in Rosewood Manor.

If someone blabbed at Holden, she wouldn’t be able to keep what she did to Maja under wraps.

Maja’s hand slowly tightened as she sat there, indifferent.

Selena sneered.

“Only those lan likes have the privilege to bear his child. Here’s a word of advice: don’t even try.”

Maja was holding a glass of water and not responding.

Selena was there to mock and belittle Maja. Seeing Maja’s silence, she felt like she was punchingcotton.

“Don’t play the victim card with lan. Even if you stripped naked in front of him, he wouldn’t give a damnabout you.”

The moment she finished, Maja splashed the water on Selena.

Selena didn’t see it coming; she had no time to cover up. Water dripping down her cheek and soakingher chest, she looked at Maja in disbelief.

“Do you know what you’re doing?”

Selena didn’t scream or rush at her; she just calmly looked at Maja.

Maja slowly put down the glass and smiled at Selena.

“I know. I’ve been wanting to do this for a while.”

Selena was shivering all over.

“Maja, you wait. Yesterday, under those circumstances, you were begging me to contact lan. It seemsyou already like him. I know lan’s taste is the best; he wouldn’t be into you. Wait till you’re kicked out ofthe Raymond family, you’ll be begging me again.”

Selena picked up a bag next to her, wiping herself dry.

“You, a woman from a small family, truly lack manners.”

“Ms. Casson.”

Just as Selena was about to leave, Maja suddenly called her, pouring her a glass of water.

“How do you know lan wouldn’t be into me? What if one day he is, and he’s begging me with tearsduring the divorce?”

Maja’s tone was calm, her gaze serene.

Selena seemed to have heard the funniest joke: “You really think too highly of yourself.”

She gave Maja a once–over, sneering. The silence was deafening; the message was clear: was sheeven worthy?

Selena left.

Maria stood far away, lacking the courage to approach.

When she saw Maja splash water at Selena, she was startled. After all, Selena was Mr. Raymond’smother.

“Ms. Pennyfeather.”

Maja was staring blankly at the water in the glass. She shook her head.

“I’m fine.“”

Abroad.

lan was inspecting a shopping mall with a group of high–level executives.

The mall was planning to introduce new products. There had been some issues with a partner, but theywere gradually being resolved. However, they needed to quickly grasp the market conditions in thisregion.

lan needed their advice and hoped to get a more direct view of the situation on site.

The mall had five floors, all filled with luxury goods. A single gemstone ring could probably cost afortune.novelbin

Listening to the reports from the executives, lan’s eyes landed on a bracelet on the counter.

The salesperson noticed his interest and knew he wasn’t just any customer. Plus, he was surroundedby a few well–dressed people, so she quickly approached.

“Sir, would you like a look? This is a new style that just came in today.”

The executive who was reporting to lan saw his attention shift to the bracelet and immediately stoppedtalking, afraid to interrupt him.

lan was looking at the bracelet, and the salesperson took it out immediately.

Seeing his handsome looks and extraordinary temperament, the salesperson began her pitch.

“This is the most expensive bracelet in our store, made with seven colored diamonds. Each diamond isof the highest grade this year, and one is a top–grade blue diamond, all over one carat. This bracelet isnoble and elegant; ladies would definitely love it.”

The bracelet was made up of eight small flowers, each with a top–grade diamond in the center. Eachdiamond was worth over ten thousand. The eight flowers formed the bracelet/seven of them with pinkhearts and one blue, adorned with diamonds. It looked stunning.

“Sir, you have a good eye. I haven’t even shown this bracelet to other customers yet.”

lan was entranced by the bracelet. For some reason, he was reminded of Penny’s wrist.

If she wore this bracelet; it would definitely look great.

This color–it’s like women can’t resist it.

“Jeff

lan called out

Jeff quickly passed over the check,

lan asked, “How much?”

“Twenty million dollars”

lan didn’t even bat an eye as he wrote the check.
