Chapter 417

When lan got back to the hotel, he received a message that made him frown immediately. He tried tocall Carlene, but she didn’t pick up.

He originally planned to send a bodyguard to check on the situation, but then he received anothermessage from Carlene.

[I’m feeling really unwell.]

lan quickly changed clothes and left. When he got to the hotel room, he knocked on the door.

The door was not completely closed, and it was a suite with no one in the living room.

He pushed the door open and called out, “Carlene?”

A noise came from the bedroom, making him think something had happened to her, so he rushedtoward the room.

But when he opened the door, he was hit by a strange smell.

lan reacted quickly, swatting away the source of the smell, only to see a familiar face.

Tricia was wearing nothing but a see–through white veil, she softly called out.

“Mr. Raymond.”

lan didn’t respond, instead, he scanned the room coldly, finding no one else.

He realized; this woman was putting on a show.

Tricia took off her veil and made some provocative moves.

lan stood his ground.

Tricia, blushing, tried to approach him.

But he walked over to a window and pulled up a chair to sit on.

His presence filled the room, making it oppressive.

Tricia made a few more exaggerated moves, but seeing his still cold expression, she was discouraged.

“Carry on.”

He wanted to see how far this woman was willing to embarrass herself.

Tricia immediately felt awkward and was unable to continue, feeling extremely mortified.

She felt like she was naked under a spotlight.

She felt both embarrassed and confused as to why lan hadn’t passed out.

lan did feel a bit hot, but the effects of the drug were trivial to him.novelbin

He even lit a cigarette, his thoughts about divorce growing stronger.

Such a shameless, selfish woman had been married to him for so long.

He thought it was a joke, so he let out a cold chuckle.

“Why did you stop?”

“Mr. Raymond.”

Tricia called out in a soft voice.

lan sat there calmly; his long legs casually crossed.

He had never found a woman so disgusting before.

“Maja.”

He called out, a tiny hint of sarcasm barely visible at the corner of his mouth.

“Because of Holden Raymond, I won’t hold tonight against you, but this can’t happen a third time. Thisis the last time.”

He stood up, lips pressed together, and his sharp gaze seeming to cut.

Seeing her one more time would hurt his eyes.

“Our divorce is inevitable. If you don’t want the Pennyfeather family to go bankrupt, stop doing theseshameless things.”

While Tricia stood there, her head feeling like it was about to explode.

What did he call her?

Maja!

Did lan not know what his own wife looked like even now?

Did he not know the Penny he met was Maja, his wife?

Tricia’s cheeks turned red from excitement, and her lips began to tremble.

Hadn’t he already slept with Maja? He didn’t even know that!

Tricia clenched her hands tightly, and her nails digged into her palm from excitement.

She quickly thought things through.

If lan mistook her for Maja, then whatever she did, Maja would bear the consequences.

She gave a slight smile and softly called out,

“Darling.”

lan’s face darkened instantly, he smiled, but it was a cold one.

Tricia immediately shut up but tried hard enough to suppress the excitement in her heart.

“I’ve been in love with you for years, what’s Carlene compared to me? How could she possibly be amatch for you? Only I am worthy of you. Holden still likes me so much. Darling, would you accept me?Please!”
