Maja was blissfully unaware of the events unfolding upstairs, still quietly waiting in the hallway until 11in the morning. When she finally got up, her legs felt slightly numb.
After bidding the nurse goodbye, she left the hospital, driving back to the hotel with a tired body.
Just as she stepped out of the elevator from the top floor, the elevator next door opened, and out camelan. Jan was dressed in a suit, casually adjusting his cufflinks. He was alone, without Jeff in sight.
Maja rubbed her tired eyes and said, “Mr. Raymond.”
The elevator doors behind them closed simultaneously, slowly moving downward. The quietenvironment on this floor made the descending sound of the elevator remarkably clear.
lan was the first to head towards his room. As Maja was closer to this side, he had to walk past her.Maja caught a whiff of a faint feminine perfume on him.
