Chapter 1534

That night, she was already experiencing pain in her belly, and Beck had called the doctor for a quick

examination.

Upon waking, her skin had turned a noticeable shade paler.

No wonder the appearance of 00 felt so abrupt. It turned out Ian had been keeping secrets from her all

along.

Taking a deep breath, she turned to Beck, who was sitting by the bed.

"Beck, have the international folks really not found the location of that research base yet?"

Beck frowned and shook his head.

Maja fell silent. If even the international folks couldn't find it, where on earth did Ian get his information?

And he'd already jetted off to Astronia, certain that the people from the research base were there.

She raised her hand to massage her temples, her mind a tangled mess.

Suddenly, she remembered a man at the underground fight club mentioning something about “test

subjects, two of them.”

One of them was Patric; could the other be Ian?

Yet, as Ian was meant solely to have a segment of ten years’ memories cloned, it wasn't likely that he

underwent other experiments.

This thought sent a wave of unease through Maja.

"Beck, Ian's gone to Astronia, and he took a stand-in for me, someone who looks ninety percent similar

to me."

Beck extended his hand, gently feeling her forehead.

"Maja, are you running a fever?"

Only then did Maja realize she was burning up, yet she couldn't stop worrying about Ian.

"Beck, if you can get in touch with him, let me know immediately."

Beck nodded and had the doctor give her an injection first.

Maja quickly succumbed to sleep.

With a tissue, Beck tenderly wiped the sweat from her forehead before calling Dylan.

"Dylan, I heard Ian's headed to Astronia. Could the research base be there?"novelbin

Dylan was investigating with Walter, who had just obtained firsthand information two minutes ago.

The research base was indeed in Astronia, but recent news on the international circuit cautioned

against travel due to a terrifying epidemic.

If the research base was releasing information now, it was surely a ploy to lure people in.

Given Ian's smarts, he wouldn't rush into a trap unless he had received vital intelligence.

And this intelligence, Ian hadn’t shared with anyone.

Dylan's brow furrowed with concern. "Is she doing OK?"

Ian wouldn't have taken Maja to Astronia, not with her being pregnant and the place being ridden with

disease.

"Maja's a bit unstable emotionally," Beck reported. "Ian even prepped a stand-in for her, who’s a dead

ringer. This man really does as he pleases, doesn't he? He didn’t notify any of us and just set off

quietly. I'm wondering what on earth he knows."

Walter pondered for a moment before taking a seat.

"He must have found Patric."

The only person likely to have clues for Ian was Patric.

As for Cynthia, no one could communicate with her.

Patric was the key, and Ian must have heard something from him.

Dylan ended the call with Beck, his fingertips tapping lightly on the desk.

"If it's valuable intelligence, Ian wouldn't keep it to himself. He's probably unsure about its validity,

hence the risk. Or maybe, this intelligence is personal, and he can't share it with us."

Walter chuckled. "Seems you have quite the faith in your future brother-in-law."

Dylan's voice dropped, tinged with melancholy, "I just think Maja has better judgment in people than I

do."

Her unwavering trust in Ian indicated he was truly worthy.

Dylan made another call and soon received Ian's landing coordinates.

"Shall we go?"

He and Walter had a strong bond, and among the Moore family elders was a medical prodigy who had

soon vanished.

Suddenly leaving a letter behind, he had disappeared for so many years.

Walter's investigation into the research base was also to find out if this elder had been taken there.

They acted swiftly, immediately securing a private jet.

Before departing, Dylan couldn't resist calling Beck, instructing him to take good care of Maja.

From his tone, Beck knew that the task the two were undertaking was very dangerous.

"Dylan, I'll leave some of the Sanders family here to look after her. Should I come with you?"

Recently, international media have been reporting a severe epidemic. If these people go and happen to

get infected, what then? Read at Drаmanovеls.coм

"Beck, you stay and take good care of her, keep her calm, and ensure the baby's well-being."

Beck comprehended Dylan's remorse and yearning to do more for Maja.

"Got it, bro."

"Will do."
