Chapter 1035

After hanging up the phone, Maja noticed lan, lost in thought, standing at the scene.

She approached him, voicing her curiosity,

“What’s wrong?”

lan shook his head and asked, “Is your assistant okay?”

“Yes, she is fine.”

Zoey watched the street lights zoom by the window, awkwardly attempting to adjust her clothing.

The car stopped at the place she was at that time staying, a residential complex provided by Maja forthe artists.

The complex had already been fully furnished and several artists had already moved in.

Security there was top–notch, the guards at the entrance knew each resident by name. Every entryrequired rigorous questioning, an ID check, as well as a phone call to the resident for final verification.

Zoey rolled down the window, smiling at the security guard who was still on duty late into the night.

“Could you open the gate, please?”

Recognizing her, the guard immediately opened the heavy gate.

When they reached Zoey’s place, she glanced at the silent man beside her, not understanding why hehad followed her in.

She nervously entered the password, and once inside, the man made himself at home on the sofa.

“Go take a shower.”

His voice was cold, devoid of any interest in taking a closer look at her humble abode.

Zoey was the type of woman suited to be a homemaker, every corner of her room was spotless. Shehad personally selected all the furnishings. some of which were rare finds from second–hand markets. She had put a lot of effort and time into making the place warm and inviting to the visitors

However, the man didn’t spare a second glance, instead, he loosened his tie and leaned back as hewas uninterested in anything else in that apartment

Zoey went to take a shower, and when she emerged wrapped in a bath towel, he showed no patienceor interest in foreplay, let alone kissing her

He never kissed her, whether it was on the lips or neck. All he did was leave marks on her with aviolent gripnovelbin

That left Zoey gasping for breath on several occasions, but she didn’t dare to say anything, consideringit was she who had initiated all of that.

The man’s gaze swept the room once, before he gestured towards the window, saying.

“Lean over there”

That position humiliated Zoey, but it was his usual method. He had no concept of tenderness, only aneed to vent.

Zoey walked over, turned her back to him, and slowly bent over.

The man began to unbuckle his belt.

Minutes later, Zoey was gripping the windowsill tightly, pain etched on her face, his mocking voiceechoing behind her

“You used to gag, but now you seem to be getting used to it”

Due to some unpleasant past experiences, Zoey felt nauseated by such intimate acts.

Murray had tried several times before, but the mere act of undressing made her throw up

It took a great deal of mental preparation before she had resorted to that demeaning method ofclimbing into bed.

She had vomited for a long time afterward, and even during the second and third times, she hadstealthily thrown up, amusing him when he discovered it

He hadn’t grown tired of that game yet, taking pleasure in her discomfort and simultaneous surrender

“Disgusting, isn’t it?”

He taunted, increasing his force, his hands firmly gripping her waist, not allowing her to escape fromthat position.

Zoey was pale from the pain, but she didn’t even dare to utter a sound because he didn’t like that kindof resistance.

He wouldn’t make any noise either, apart from the occasional sarcastic comment, and his heavybreathing.

Having been terrified by a group of kidnappers earlier in the night, Zoey’s emotional defenses weredown, and her tears flowed freely.

He knew that she was crying, and his voice grew even colder.

“Tears work on those who care for you. In front of me, they only make me feel less satisfied.”

She quickly covered her mouth, biting down on her lip until it eventually bled.

“I’m sorry.”

He leaned in, taking in her scent, but didn’t say anything more offensive.

It wasn’t until seven in the morning, when she couldn’t take it anymore, that she pushed him away, saying.

“I need to go to work.”

He let out a deep breath, finished his business, and began to neatly dress himself.

Zoey didn’t dare to turn around to look at him, waiting until she heard the door close behind her beforecollapsing onto the floor.
