"Reeva, admit defeat! Mr. Ward and I can step aside for now," Caelan said, giving hisgranddaughter a deep look before putting on his mask and walking out.
It wasn't just for himself - he was willing to sell even his own granddaughter. It was because Reevahad made a bet with Lachlan, and one's word should be their bond. Besides, Lachlan seemedinterested in Reeva - wasn't that a good thing?
"Mr. Willis seems like quite the ladies' man," Erik said suggestively as he followed Caelan out.
But in reality, Erik was calculating which of the eligible girls from the Ward family were pretty enoughto introduce to Lachlan.
Lachlan had an eye for beauty? Well then!
When people wanted to get close to someone, it was most frightening when they had no desires orexpectations.
As Caelan and Erik left one after another, Reeva stood there at a loss for what to do next.
The next second she glared at Lachlan with eyes that could eat him alive.
"You're already married with child! How shameless can you be?" she gritted her teeth and cursedhim out.
"Men are young until they die, don't you know that?" Lachlan smirked.
"You..." Reeva's face turned red. After taking a deep breath, she showed a determined look.
The next second, she closed her eyes and looked as if she was about to make a brave sacrifice.
"Fine! I'll admit defeat. Let's just say I am watched by a dog!" She said as she began to undo herclothes to fulfill the bet.
However, at that moment, a warm hand grabbed her wrist and stopped her actions.
"What do you mean? Do you still want to humiliate me?" Reeva asked angrily after being stunnedfor a moment.
Lachlan chuckled. "Forget it. Actually, I didn't win either. The bet was that I could cure yourgrandfather completely but he's not fully cured yet so let's call it even."

Just when she started having slightly better thoughts about this guy in her heart, Lachlan's nextwords almost made her explode with anger.

Upon hearing this, Reeva widened her eyes and covered her cheeks as if she had already grown abeard there.

She wished she could kill Lachlan to silence him first, and then dig a hole herself to crawl into!

Two more days passed! During these two days, he mainly helped Nora enroll in school with the helpof the Ward family's connections. She would be attending the same kindergarten as Chloe.
The two kids had a great time playing together that day when they found out that they would begoing to school soon and could play with other children.
The next morning after Lachlan dropped off Nora at school, he called Miranda to let her know hecould start working today. She told him to come directly to the company. When he arrived by taxi atthe company entrance though, security stopped him.
"Hold on there! Who are you?" A security guard gave Lachlan a once-over and asked, "Who areyou?"
"I'm the new assistant to Ms. Lowe," Lachlan replied.
"I've never heard of an assistant for Ms. Lowe. Do you have any identification? If not, get lost!" theguard said rudely.
Lachlan frowned at his words. Miranda had told him that he was her exclusive driver and assistantfrom now on, but she hadn't given him any identification to prove it.
Just as he was about to call Miranda to ask her to talk to the guard, a beautiful figure caught hiseye.
It was Shelly Parry, Miranda's secretary!
Miranda had told him before coming here that he should find someone named Shelly Parry and shewould arrange an office for him.
So when Lachlan saw Shelly's name tag approaching, his eyes lit up with recognition.
"Are you Shelly Parry?" he called out excitedly. "I'm Ms. Lowe's new assistant and this guarddoesn't know me. Can you explain who I am?"
As someone close to Miranda, Lachlan thought that Shelly must know why he was there.
But after giving him a quick glance over her shoulder, Shelly asked in a sarcastic tone, "Oh really?Who are you? I don't remember seeing you before."
Lachlan felt anger boiling up inside of him at her mocking expression.
He knew that she was deliberately making things difficult for him.
"I am Ms. Lowe's husband, she just called me to come to the company. As her secretary, don't youknow?" Lachlan asked coldly.
"Ms. Lowe's husband? That's hilarious! You really think you're her husband? You're just a dog, atool for Ms. Lowe! Don't think that just because she called you back, you're someone important!Trash!" Shelly said contemptuously, mercilessly humiliating Lachlan.
As Miranda's personal secretary, of course she knew that Miranda had found herself an "fiancé".
Shelly also knew what kind of person this "fiancé" was like and looked down on Lachlan even morein her heart.
Lachlan glared at her and suddenly his eyes flashed as he stared at the beautiful secretary's chestwith a cold smile on his lips!
