Carissa was shocked to hear this and almost dropped her jaw in disbelief. "Are you kidding me? Abunch of gangsters, riding in a beat-up car, came over to help that toad remove weeds and fix thewall? Are they crazy?" she asked Omar, not sure if he had mistaken someone else for Lachlan.
Omar's eyelids twitched as he quickly covered Carissa's mouth with his hand. He glanced nervouslyout the car window before letting out a sigh of relief when he saw no one around them. In the nextsecond, he started up the car and drove away with this foolish woman.
