The morning sunlight was warm and gentle. Alyssa woke up in her soft bed and did a full–body
stretch under the blanket. She stretched her arms as far as she could with her bottom lifted. Her
demeanor was like that of a drowsy cat.
She changed into a white athleisure outfit and went rowing at the lake in the backyard as usual.
Sean had freshened up early in the morning. He stood by the lake with a water bottle in his left
hand. A clean towel hung on his right arm. He waited for Alyssa to be done.
“The videos of Betty harassing our hotel employee have been taken down from the internet. Even thetrending keywords were gone.” Sean handed her the white towel and thoughtfully opened the
bottle cap for her.
He continued, “There is some online traction on the scandal right now, but it will die down in no
time. I don’t think anything will come out of it.”
That’s unsurprising. The Beckett Group’s PR and legal machinery are the best in Solana City. Plus,Jasper Beckett has taken over those departments.” She wiped away the sweat from her
forehead and panted lightly.
“Did Jasper Beckett remove the videos and the keywords?” Sean’s eyes widened.
Alyssa tossed her hair and downed the water with a gleam in her eyes.
Her neck, reminiscent of a swan’s elegance, showcased a delicate and graceful arc. She made his
heart flutter with a simple act of drinking.
“Jasper Beckett is now seeking advantages and minimizing his losses.” She wiped away the waterdroplets on her lips with the back of her hand. She smirked. “If I had known him through business, Iwouldn’t have fallen for him at all.”
She met the wrong person at the wrong time. To sum it up, her relationship with Jasper was a decisionthat went against her better judgment and morals.
“How do you plan to fight back?”
Alyssa’s innocent and divine eyes seemed to twinkle with slyness. Her dark eyes flickered as she
arrived at an idea.
“The employee is still at the hospital, isn’t she? I’ll inspect the hotel and attend a meeting. After that,you’ll go with me to the hospital to check on her.”
The female hotel employee at the Mercy Hospital had been transferred to an ordinary ward. A fewhours later, she was shocked to see Alyssa, the general manager, visiting her. She scrambled up
from her bed to greet Alyssa.

Alyssa forced her to rest. With a warm smile, she said, “Ella, just lie down. Don’t be nervous. You’re
in recovery. You need to take care of your health first and foremost.”

“It’s alright. You suffered a work injury. The hotel has submitted the claim on your behalf.”

“I’m here today to ask you a question.” Alyssa put on a straight face and asked in a clear and
gentle tone, “How do you wish to go about the incident with Betty Beckett?”
“She’s the daughter of the Beckett Family. I can’t do anything because I have no power. I noticed
that they have also removed the videos online this morning. Us ordinary folks can’t even rely on
social media to air our grievances…” Ella hung her head in despair.
“The Beckett Group might not give you the right to speak up, but I shall grant you permission to
do so.” Alyssa squinted her eyes and said with determination.

“If you want an apology from Betty, we need to expose more details from the incident. That might
bring some inconvenience to your life. That’s why I’m here to ask for your opinion. After all, you’re
the victim. I might be your boss, but I can’t do as I wish without considering your feelings,” Alyssa
explained calmly.
“I–1 want Betty Beckett to apologize to me. It can be a private apology…”
“That won’t do. I want a public apology from her,” Alyssa was curt.
“A–Are you saying that you want her to publicly apologize to me? How is that possible?” Ella’s jaw
fell.
“Ella, judging from Betty’s brazenness in humiliating you in front of everyone, she’d never offer
you an apology in private,” Jasper explained patiently. “However, she will have to apologize to you
in the eyes of the public.” 2
“Ms. Alyssa, i–it’s fine! I don’t want trouble for the hotel and you!” Scared, Ella quickly shook her
head.
“Don’t worry. If Betty retaliates, she’ll be digging her own grave. Moreover, I do so because of other

Betty might have wanted to shut down the controversy, but Alyssa wouldn’t allow it.
