Rory was stunned for a moment. When he realized Javier was referring to Sophia slapping him, hesmiled indifferently.
“I’ve been with you for many years. This is nothing. But I think if it were Ms. Bartley, she would neverallow you to be troubled like this.”
“Yeah… Anne wouldn’t. She was the kindest person.”
As Javier spoke, his throat constricted, and his eyes reddened.
“Do you want to start drafting a divorce agreement?” Rory asked tentatively.
Javier’s eyes showed an indescribable desolation, and he said hoarsely, “Not now. There are too manytroubles at the moment. Beckett Group cannot afford new chaos.”
