Chapter 1132

“I intended to do so as well,” Jonah replied, nodding solemnly.

Winston looked at his old friend. “Victor, it would help to have Josh aid in the investigation, given he’sthe CEO. You wouldn’t mind if he aids Jonah, would you?”

“What’s with the politeness? How could I possibly ignore something so serious that’s affected Lyse?Help Uncle Winston as much as you can, Josh. You must investigate this thoroughly so Lyse isavenged!”

Victor exclaimed.

He was secretly grateful for Winston’s decision. The police should’ve been called on to look into such agrave matter, but Winston chose to handle this privately on account of their decades-long friendship.

If the police were involved, then so would the media. Since this incident occurred at Schmidt’sRacecourses and Alyssa was injured from it, the Schmidt family’s reputation would surely be affected ifknown to the public.

“Alright, I’ll do my best to help Mr. Taylor,” Josh said.

However, Jasper’s voice rang out the moment he finished speaking, ” There’s no need to go to thetrouble. I’ve already apprehended the person who injured the horse.”

Everyone gazed at him in shock and awe.

Alyssa stared fixedly at Jasper, her eyes filled with sheer astonishment.

“Bring them in, Xavier,” Jasper instructed.

What followed was a flurry of footsteps.

Xavier and two bodyguards were dragging Max over to them. The latter was covered in dirt and lookedcompletely disheveled.

“M-Max?” Everyone in the Harper family, save Landon, was stunned.

Meanwhile, Zoe had turned stark white in the face as she took a fearful step back.

An hour ago, Landon called Jasper over to his side.novelbin

“Zoe?” Jasper’s eyebrows pulled tight.

“I’ll serve my own head on a silver platter if that damned brat wasn’t involved!” Landon roared, fingersquivering angrily around the cigarette he was holding.

“You don’t need to do that. We have tons of food at home,” Jasper responded.

He got a cigarette from Landon but didn’t light it up. It remained tucked between his fingers. “Zoe isyour sister, so I’ll give you one chance to deal with the matter. I’m afraid you won’t like the methods I’duse to deal with this.”

“I keep having this feeling that Zoe was involved in this or knew something about it.”

Landon still had a shred of hope for his sister, so he began doubting himself. “But I don’t have concreteevidence, Jasper. I feel like Zoe must have known something. Her resentment toward the fact that youand Alyssa are together provides her with a motive as well. But I don’t have proof to make thisconclusion, Jasper.”

“Did you realize how long-winded you’ve become after falling in love?” Jasper asked, gazing flatly at hisfriend.

Landon was taken aback for a moment. He then sighed. “I’ve been uniny ?aut ings way in untulluciicu asI used to be now that I have Lauren.”

Jasper’s fingers tightened around the cigarette. However, he stayed silent, capable of empathizing withLandon.

“I can help you investigate this secretly, Jasper, but…

“I know. Mr. Cornelius dotes very much on Zoe. You’ll need his support for your relationship withLauren, too, so you can’t be making rash decisions that would jeopardize yourself in the old man’seyes,” Jasper said.

Landon nodded fervently, wearing an expression that said, “You get it!”

Jasper smiled lightly and patted Landon’s shoulder. “I’ll be the bad guy this time. I hope this doesn’thurt innocent bystanders but punishes those who deserve it instead.”
