Chapter 1050

Jeffrey sneered but said nothing.

“So why don’t we work together? You can testify that Sophia was the one who instructed you to killNina. In return, we’ll make sure you return to Tsulu within the year. You saw how close my sister was tothe royal family. All that’s needed to get you back home safe is a kind word from my sister to thequeen.”

Alyssa then ended her words with, “How about it, Mr. Snyder? Why don’t you consider our offer?”

Shock rippled in Jasper’s eyes.

Alyssa’s attitude, consideration, and mindset were just as keen as Jasper’s and the other men in thebusiness world. In fact, many of the big leagues couldn’t even compare.

Jasper was fortunate Alyssa was kind at heart and that she loved him. Who knows what kind of tormentJasper would suffer from her? It must be the devastating kind.

Jeffrey chuckled. He said sarcastically, “If someone else offered this deal to me today, I might actuallytake it up. But since it’s you who’s suggesting it, Ms. Alyssa, then I do not have a single reason tobelieve you at all.novelbin

“Put plainly, I’m only here today because of you, no? You’re only seeking me out because you’re out ofideas about defeating Sophia. I’m nothing more than a pawn to you. Do you really think I wouldn’t seethrough your ploy?”

Jeffrey then stood up from the chair, its legs dragging loudly against the ground.

“Stop wasting your breath here. Why don’t you spend time figuring out how to handle Sophia?Hahaha!”

Neither Jasper nor Alyssa were in the best mood when they left the room.

Cyrus didn’t press the matter as he could tell the mediation had failed. He could only console them bysaying he would continue interrogating Jeffrey.

Jasper could tell Alyssa wasn’t in a good mood on the car ride back. He gathered her into his arms andtucked his chin on her head.

He then said, “Don’t feel down, Lyse. We still have Nina’s recording. It may not be direct evidence, andit’s been 20 years since it was recorded, but it would still impact Sophia greatly upon its reveal. Herreputation would be ruined, and not even Javier could save her then.”

“Is that all you want, Jasper?” Alyssa suddenly asked in a cold tone.

A heavy weight pressed on Jasper’s chest, making his breathing. shallow. His heart pained as if it wasbeing excavated.

Of course not. Jasper wanted Sophia to die. He wanted to drag her straight down to hell.

“It’s already been 20 years. Even if we had the voice recording, what good would it do?” Jasper saidgently.

Alyssa pressed a hand on his chest right above his heart. Only she could understand the hatred andrage in Jasper’s heart toward Sophia.

“20 years have passed, making the statute of limitation come into place, rendering evidence useless. You know there’s no way Sophia can be sentenced gravely without direct evidence. How can just herruined reputation and being hated by Javier be enough? How?” Alyssa

“Lyse…” Jasper’s eyes were wet. His voice was raspy from having to suppress the emotion he felt.

“This is our only chance to make Sophia’s life a living hell, to never give her a chance to redeemherself. We need to use Nina’s death and Jeffrey’s confession to establish her as a cold-bloodedmurderer!” Alyssa said.

Anger flitted in her eyes as she continued, “If it weren’t for Nina, the truth about your mother’s deathwould’ve been lost forever. Nina got. this chance for us at the cost of her own life, so we need to makeuse. of it. We need to make Jeffrey tell us the truth no matter what!”

“Do you think Jeffrey would come clean? He was so obstinate earlier,

Jasper asked sullenly.

“He will. Believe me. I could tell that he wavered just the slightest earlier. Why else would he just sitthere and listen to us? He wouldn’t have wanted to see us in the first place,” Alyssa said, determined.

Jasper nodded lightly in agreement.

“Jeffrey just doesn’t trust me right now. Plus, his days in lock-up are still bearable, so there’s no need totake the risk of cooperating with. me,” Alyssa explained.

“Bearable?” Jasper questioned as an alarming ferocity appeared in his eyes. “He’ll soon come torealize that the only chance for survival is to cooperate with us, even if his continued existence is onlytemporary.”
